  • A Beautiful Place!

"For our family vacation, we spent 8 nights in this lovely Kitsilano place, this place felt just like a home away from home. We were greeted with a vase of beautiful tulips. The place had everything we needed, just like the previous reviewer had put: all you need to buy is food. Before going there, I read many good reviews about the place, I had a rather high expectation, and I must admit that it even exceeded my expectation. The house is beautifully decorated with antique furniture and paintings, yet it is so convenient with all the modern appliances you might expect, free WIFI and parking. We enjoyed very much having breakfast in the bright kitchen, overlooking the beautiful backyard garden. The location of this place is great, it is close to the airport, UBC, the beach, and many other sights in Vancouver. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Vancouver, and would like to return for our next visit. Thanks for everything, Susan!"

  • Return visit to Homeplate once again is a HOMERUN

"Third stay at Homeplate. Always the same - Caroline is great, place spotless, all the comforts of home. Anytime we are in Vancouver this is where we try to stay first. Thanks again - Brian"

  • Great stay in a great condo

"After reading the previous review about noise, heat and keys we were a little apprehensive - but that was completely blown away when we met the owners' son who gave us two sets of keys and showed us the air conditioner - which is simple to operate. We had blistering hot weather, but the condo was a haven of coolness when we returned from our many walks to bakeries and boutiques, trips to the beaches, Kitsilano's huge swimming pool and downtown Vancouver. Yes - W 4th Ave is busy during the rush hour but quiet after 10:00 pm. We live (most of the year) in a tranquil close and are not used to noise - but we had no problem. This is a well appointed condo in a well run building. We had one of our best vacations ever (and we have been throughout North America and to many parts of Europe and even Africa). The attraction for us was the ability to walk to countless tiny, chic retailers, coffee shops and restaurants and enjoy a trendy, upscale locale close to English Bay and the glorious water and mountain views. A bus stop right outside the main entrance to the condo development means you can get to Downtown Vancouver quickly and cheaply - without the hassle of finding and paying for parking. We walked to Granville Island a couple of times - and took the little passenger ferry once just for the fun of it. The owners are wonderful people who have thought of everything to create a perfect "pied-à-terre" to enjoy the unique environs. We can thoroughly recommend this condo and would really love to stay at this condo again in 2015."

  • Lovely living space in Vancouver's best neighborhood

"My family (me, my husband, our newborn, and my mother-in-law) thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The apartment is lovely, comfortable, and well-appointed. Better yet, it's situated just 3 blocks from Commercial Drive, which - in my opinion - is the most walk-able and delicious neighborhood in Vancouver. The charming, helpful owners keep the living room well-stocked with travel-themed books, and we give them oodles of bonus points for having a first edition (1982!) Lonely Planet Guide to India. Rare for a VRBO, the kitchen is both beautiful and quite functional. So, once we settled into a routine with our newborn, it was a treat to switch from take-out to shopping for ingredients on the Drive and coming "home" to a primo space to cook meals. We'd consider ourselves lucky to stay here again!"
