"This was the first time we have rented a house or cottage via the internet and we were a little nervous. Our fears were not founded because Anchor Rock was just as described on VRBO and better. It was very well supplied and we were surprised and appreciative of the care package that Randy brought us our first night. Our ages ranged from 2 to 67 years and the house suited all of our needs. The house was a good base point to do touring. We booked a lighthouse picnic at Ferryland and even though it turned foggy and rained later,it was a highlight of our trip. You need to book these lunches well in advance as it books up quickly.its an easy drive to St. John's with all of the sights to see there. We drove the Irish Loop to,see the scenery. We made wonderful memories at Anchor Rock and would highly recommend renting the house to anyone."

"Our stay here was absolutely wonderful! So close to the downtown core, George St, the beautiful harbor, and much more! The house was very spacious and comfortable. Fridge stocked with amenities like ketchup, mustard, tartar, and much more. Cupboards fully stocked with dishware and glassware for any need. Laundry soap and extra linens in the closets upstairs. Netflix available on the smart tv for lazy afternoons. Only hassle of the location was the walk to a grocery store, approximately 25 minute walk uphill.
Thank you for the wonderful stay! I look forward to being able to return to this beautiful property!"

Steps from the city and the North Head Trail to Signal Hill
"Hare's Ears will forever be in our hearts as the charming, comfortable and convenient home away from home it is. We travelled with an 8 month old, two young adults and two Middle Agers. We were all fit enough to enjoy the daily walks into St. John's and several trips on the North Head Trail. Pushing a stroller into town is highly doable!
Hare's Ears is beautifully decorated and had every convenience we could hope for. The owner and local caretakers were both very attentive to our questions and needs. The views of the harbour are fantastic! There's something to watch 24 hours a day outside the wall to wall windows. Our grandchild loved watching all the birds flying and landing nearby and we were literally nestled into "The Rock". It was fun to pick out our home in the Battery from St. John's and from the boat ride we took to view incredible icebergs just outside of the harbour.
Hare's Ears was the perfect home base for us to really enjoy our week in St. John's and environs."

"we had the best stay. what a wonderful house, top shape, spotless clean. the only thing to change, I am absolutely for saving water, BUT the pressure to take a shower is too low and I would have enjoyed a bath on my holiday but it would not have filled the tub ever. We will be back."
