  • Family Getaway

"We were a party of four. Stayed for 3 nights. Mother, daughter, mother in law & father in law. House is absolutely perfect. Lots of room for everyone. Great location and home base for visiting the area. This home is spotlessly clean both inside and out. there was nothing overlooked. I will definitely recommend this home to all i know. Thank you."

"This was the first time we have rented a house or cottage via the internet and we were a little nervous. Our fears were not founded because Anchor Rock was just as described on VRBO and better. It was very well supplied and we were surprised and appreciative of the care package that Randy brought us our first night. Our ages ranged from 2 to 67 years and the house suited all of our needs. The house was a good base point to do touring. We booked a lighthouse picnic at Ferryland and even though it turned foggy and rained later,it was a highlight of our trip. You need to book these lunches well in advance as it books up quickly.its an easy drive to St. John's with all of the sights to see there. We drove the Irish Loop to,see the scenery. We made wonderful memories at Anchor Rock and would highly recommend renting the house to anyone."

  • Perfect Bridge Getaway

"We were 6 ladies looking for a place to relax, play bridge, cook good food , eat and enjoy each other's company. As fortune would have it , the weather was perfect...15C and sunny..fall in Newfoundland can be exceptional. So we were able to get in a hike and enjoy the magnificent views over the ocean. Ochre Pit Cove has something to offer for everyone. And the Church at Ochre Pit Cove is unique , from it's stained glass window which changes colour depending on the light, to it's magnificently equipped kitchen which would satisfy the most meticulous foodie..everything one might need to prepare an excellent meal. 5 bedrooms, 3 ensuite , more than met our needs . Hot showers, plenty of water... The place is so big that you never felt you were under each other's feet..plenty of space to be quiet and perhaps read..but a lovely communal kitchen , dining room area when you felt like being social. And, for music, there were CD players with a huge CD selection, plus an Ipod dock, and , if you are musical yourself, a piano and a guitar. Lots of books lined the bookshelves..you really did not need to come prepared because the owners have thought of everything. We have booked to go again in early June....can't wait!"

"This is a beautiful, bright home in a great area of St. Johns, just a short walk from the downtown core and with a fantastic view of the inner harbour."
