  • Perfect Bridge Getaway

"We were 6 ladies looking for a place to relax, play bridge, cook good food , eat and enjoy each other's company. As fortune would have it , the weather was perfect...15C and sunny..fall in Newfoundland can be exceptional. So we were able to get in a hike and enjoy the magnificent views over the ocean. Ochre Pit Cove has something to offer for everyone. And the Church at Ochre Pit Cove is unique , from it's stained glass window which changes colour depending on the light, to it's magnificently equipped kitchen which would satisfy the most meticulous foodie..everything one might need to prepare an excellent meal. 5 bedrooms, 3 ensuite , more than met our needs . Hot showers, plenty of water... The place is so big that you never felt you were under each other's feet..plenty of space to be quiet and perhaps read..but a lovely communal kitchen , dining room area when you felt like being social. And, for music, there were CD players with a huge CD selection, plus an Ipod dock, and , if you are musical yourself, a piano and a guitar. Lots of books lined the bookshelves..you really did not need to come prepared because the owners have thought of everything. We have booked to go again in early June....can't wait!"

  • Bird's eye view from the nest

"Shorelark by the Sea, in the quaint community of Petty Harbour is a wonderful alternative to staying in St. John's. The fishing harbour is the perfect stepping stone to visiting the south shore or the big city. Karen and David have done an impressive job of creating a beautiful home away from home, and have thought of everything. The views from the deck are exceptional and it allowed us to get a feel for life in a small fishing community. It also has one of the best fish restaurants in the area, which one must visit. We would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area. We will be back! Annie and Rick"

  • Beautiful Newfoundland Home with the Magnificent View

"We were pleasantly surprised to find this beautiful home with its magnificent view for our once in a lifetime "Ancestry Exploration" trip. We were six ladies ranging from ages 32-82 coming together to visit the land of our heritage. The house was comfortable, clean, well stocked and convenient to St Johns and the highway. We were able to cook, enjoy each other's company and sleep comfortably. The homeowners left a few very welcoming touches just to add to the special feel of this house. We made great memories and appreciated every moment of this magical experience."
