  • Can't say enough good things about this place!

"This is a beautiful, spacious cottage with an amazing view. Peaceful, practical, and comfortable. It had everything we needed/wanted and nothing that we didn't. Close to the fishing village of Cheticamp and Cape Breton Highlands National Park. John (owner) was a great resource. WiFi worked great. We want to go back!"

  • A Remote Getaway

"Although the weather did not cooperate (we were in rain and white blanket of fog for the majority of our visit) my partner and I enjoyed our two night stay at "the End of the Earth". The accommodation was bright, clean, and cozy. If the fog had lifted we are sure the views would have been spectacular. For those travelling here for the first time - do pay attention to the name of this place as it is quite accurate. It is a great vacation rental for outdoor enthusiasts - especially hikers. And it is a terrific place for anyone who wants to get away from it all. However it is not the place for everyone. My 75 year old father found the accommodation to be too remote. And the trails near the place were too wild, wet and slippery for his hiking ability. And although we gave him the master bedroom with the large bed (my partner and I slept together on the bottom bunk of the twin beds in the spare room), he remained uncomfortable with the remoteness. A recommendation for the owners - consider replacing the twin beds with a double bed (the roll away can help for families). And do consider adding some utensils for eating lobster!"

  • Wonderful home base for exploring Cape Breton

"Our family of 5 (kids ages 5,12, and 14), from CO, had a wonderful time in this beautiful cottage. The photos are very accurate. The cottage is beautiful and extremely comfortable. It is located in a lovely village, with several very good restaurants and a sensational setting on the Bras d'or lake. Everything you could need or want is provided. Jane was a phenomenal resource for guiding our stay on Cape Breton, and in other parts of Nova Scotia (she even helped us plan a trip to Lunenberg). She was always happy to answer any questions, and gave so much of her time to us as we tried to map out a vacation there. We just had a ball, and it is largely thanks to Jane. Highlights were: the fortress at Louisburg, numerous hikes in Cape Breton and Baddeck, whale watching in Pleasant Bay, and swimming at Inverness. We cannot say enough about how perfect this cottage is for everyone's needs. We loved it and would love to return."

  • Wonderful property - could not be better!

"The beach house overlooks the ocean to the right, Cape Smokey straight ahead and the Cabot Trail to the left. I am not sure that a more picturesque location would be possible. The Singing Pebbles is a very special place indeed! A short walk through the property to Angel's Bluff is a rewarding journey for someone seeking to see the most magnificent sunrise imaginable. The house is spacious enough for a family to enjoy, will all the amenities of home. Jitka was a warm and friendly host, with lots of suggestions as to what to do and see while on the island. Aside from that, there is lots to do on the property itself with a games room and swimming pond available for your use. Cape Breton is a wonderful place to visit - I would highly recommend it to anyone that enjoys the outdoors, scenic drives, hiking, adventure... There is a lot more to do than one week could have possibly afforded, and that's why we will be returning one day - hopefully soon!"
