  • A spectacular view and more!

"The Mighty Blue has everything you need to make your stay comfortable plus, it was spotless. The trees surrounding it make it private and cozy. There is a grocery store within walking distance for supplies. We were fortunate to have stayed there 11 days in July. The view of the sparkling blue seas and listening to the ocean crash on the rocks is priceless. Satellite TV, wifi, dvd, fireplace, barbecue grill and more. Kathy was a valuable source for activities, restaurants, and points of interest. I can't recommend it enough. It will make your vacation unforgettable too."

"Our overnite stay here was absolutely fantastic. This cottage is spotless and quaint, right on the water, and you feel like you're one-with-the ocean. The waves rocked us to sleep and the morning sunrise was spectacular. We loved this place and it truly is a piece of heaven! I highly recommend this 5 star cottage."

  • Ultimate Ocean Experience

"After being on the road for almost 2 weeks, it was nice to walk into such a quiet, clean, cozy place with room to spread out and relax, and cook and do laundry. A great location for exploring The Cabot Trail. Greg and Jackie are great hosts, and we spent one of the best days of our trip with them on their boat, as well as learning so much from Greg, and getting to BBQ some of the halibut Greg caught and shared with us to cook for our dinner back at the cottage. We got to a lot in the water that day, it was unbelievable! Tons of sunfish, a couple groups of pilot whales, seals, and a leatherback turtle, which was spectacular up close and personal! It was a day that we will always remember. Our stay in Neils Harbour was out of the ordinary! I would highly recommend this rental to anyone wanting to explore Cape Breton Island, and all the beauty that it has to offer. I cannot say enough about just how much the 2 of us enjoyed our time there, other than it could have been longer, and there's enough room in the cottage that we could have easily shared it with more friends or family."

  • Perfect for us!

"We stayed 6 nights with our 5 year old daughter...who had her own room! Washer/dryer and a full kitchen was a bonus for us with a young child who needed a "home away from home" during her 2 week stay in Nova Scotia. TV, DVD player, and internet were appreciated after a long day in the national park. Our only complaint would be the very bright sunlight coming in through the windows at 4:30am! (Tin foil curtains quickly fix that!) From the back porch you can watch the lobster boats coming and going (the fisherman wave back!) and the beautifully maintained yard was perfect for our daughter to release her energy after a long car ride. The beach is close, but very rocky (no sand) which was perfect for us. She would have been happy navigating the rocks all day. We were able to find rocks to just sit upon, watch for whales (never saw any), and complete the Cape Breton National Park guidebook they give to young children. (Anyone with young children should inquire about this guidebook when you purchase your pass. It is a terrific way to keep children engaged and to lend meaning to their experiences.) Neil's Harbour has one very small grocery/co-op store so we shopped in Port Hawkesbury before coming, but you can pick up anything you might have forgotten there. There is also a small pharmacy in town. There are 2 restaurants and a highly frequented ice cream shop. We made day trips to Ingonish, Mary Ann Falls (our favorite), Cheticamp, and various beaches. We took a puffin cruise from Big Bras d'Or which was a 2 hour drive...take the Englishtown ferry to save time...but we saw tons of birds and seals. We felt Neil's Harbour was a perfect spot to stay in order to fully explore the national park without rushing or spending a lot of time in the car. The best testimony is from our daughter who said at the end of our stay, "I don't ever want to leave here.""
