"Peggy's Cottage is the essence of charm, calm and comfort. I fell in love with the upper bedroom -- its light, the views and the library -- and ended each touring day reading by one its four front windows. Thoughtful attention to detail is evident: the kitchen is well-equipped; brochures/maps to local spots are available; directions to bay access and instructions for recycling are clear; even laundry detergent is provided! The cottage grounds are also charming -- there's a beautiful moss-covered path in the back that takes you by a creek, a favourite spot for my terrier to cool off. (And a good old clothesline, so your wash can dry in the glorious sun I was treated to for several days)!
As others before me have said, the hosts are incredibly welcoming and helpful. During the booking process, Peggy was particularly quick to respond to my frequent and numerous questions.
The traffic roaring by the front of the cottage was a bit overwhelming at times, but perhaps that was due to the fact that it was a busy time of year (the Digby Wharf Rat motorcycle festival was on). Be careful backing your car out onto the highway.
And be cautioned: this is most definitely an unplugged experience! There is no cell reception nor is there a landline. The fact that I was on my own and couldn't make a call made me feel a little unsettled and is why I cannot give this otherwise delightful property 5 stars.
But I will be back. I want to experience this beautiful part of the world in fall, winter, and spring."

"We had a wonderful time at the Cottage. It was a perfect jumping off point for exploring the South Shore. Having the ferry and the bakery so close was really nice too. The cottage was as expected--clean, comfortable, and perfect for our family of 3. No complaints at all. Thanks for a wonderful stay. To future guests--hit Rhubarb restaurant near Peggy's cove--very yummy and the best chowder around. Risser's beach and crescent beach were both really nice. We found a very off the beaten path hike not too far from Peggy's Cove--can't remember the name though. But, it was a great hike along the coast and we avoided the masses at Peggy's Cove."

"My husband, son, dau-in-law, and I had the grand luck to be able to spend three glorious weeks in Bill's gorgeous home! I can no fault with anything. Bill is a most gracious host, and handsome to boot! The house was equipped with everything one would need and all top shelf. The re-cycling system was a bit of a challenge but we muddled through as best we could. If you are looking for a place to relax and reflect on the world, read that book you have been meaning to read or take day trips to see more of Nova Scotia, this is the perfect place. Watching seals, eagles, and deer are just a bonus. THANK YOU SO MUCH Bill for sharing your world with us! M. Gore , Memphis, TN"
