  • Heaven Exists

"Beautiful...nope. Idyllic...nope. Awesome...nope. Memorable...nope. Utopian...nope. I guess there is no single word that would describe this little piece of heaven on earth. After just two days there we thirsted for more than our allotted week, at which point the fates intervened and we were able to extend our stay. Many thanks to you, Morry, your cottage is ... all of the above and we will someday return!"

  • Fantastic!

"So much character to this lovely property. The decor is amazing and it was well stocked with anything we could need. No need to buy things like spices or flour or any of those other staples that you hate to have to buy when vacationing. The property manager was by regularly to check on us and the entire transaction overall was excellent. We already plan to return again. My husband and I are from Nova Scotia but had not spent much time in Chester. We brought our friends and their young child. There was something to do for everyone. The bike paths and community pool were enjoyed immensely."

  • A Sweetheart of a Place

"Far Far Away Guesthouse is comfortable, cozy and uniquely styled- we enjoyed the decor and artwork. Jay was sweet to leave us a card and bottle of wine as I mentioned it was our anniversary. He was easy to communicate with, very laid back, and overall the perfect host. The cottage is well stocked with extras and some basic food supplies- coffee, sugar, etc, so there is very little one would need to run to the store to get. Close to Mahone Bay (Mug & Anchor restaurant, Jennifer's Bakery are MUSTS) and Chester Basin, (The Galley was wonderful/romantic). The Chester Connector trail goes over the Gold River and along the old train route- we found the area breathtaking. The beauty of this spot is it's out-of-the-way location, while being close to everything one comes to Nova Scotia to see. Caveats: The bathroom is quite cramped, but we managed. The water pump was so loud I didn't wish to flush the toilet or take an early morning shower because I didn't wish to awaken my partner. But I wouldn't hestitate to come back to visit again- I'd just bring earplugs for my honey. It fit with our style of traveling- a base camp for our explorations. It's less than an hour from Ross Farm Museum up Route 12, Martock (OnTree Park) up route 14 and Halifax, up highway 103."

  • Great house, great town, great people.

"Absolutely fantastic stay while in Brookfield. Can't say enough about the house. Extremely clean, beautifully done on the inside, and more than enough room for everyone. In fact, other than laundry, we had enough room that we didn't even have to use the downstairs half much at all. Owners are very friendly to deal with. Pleasant correspondence at all times, and even more than accommodating when we had to change our original date of stay. The town is super friendly. We had been in town all of half an hour and went for a walk to the store. Locals were honking and waving like we had lived there for years. All in all a fantastic experience that I would recommend in a heartbeat. Even do it again ourselves. Thanks so much."
