"My wife and I stayed two weeks in this apartment in midsummer. The apartment is a little dreary with poor views out of the windows, however the apartment is clean, safe and secure, a block away from a large grocery store and a liquor store, and near the east end of the boardwalk. The beds were comfortable , all extra towels , toilet paper, garbage bags and paper towels were provided. We ate all our meals in the apartment. The kitchen had most everything you would want except for a chef knife for cutting and chopping and perhaps a large pot for cooking lobsters. We bought two 2lb. lobsters at one of the fish markets on the road to Bedford and had a hard time getting both in the largest pot in the kitchen.
The rent on the apartment seems a little high but there appears to be few condo or apartments for rent for a week or two in Halifax."

"What a great spot. The views were unbelievable and the house has everything you could want. It was a great base for our adventures around NS and a great place to have some time to relax. Highly recommended."

"We chose Sunrise at Sol Point for our family vacation after reviewing many different properties on Home & Away and other sites.
The previous reviews were all extremely positive which brought it to our attention more readily.
Well, it did not disappoint. Simply an amazing home with all amenities you would want for a vacation on the east coast. The four kayaks and life jackets were an added treat and well used during our 10 day stay.
A five minute drive to Peggy's Cove, lots of little islands to kayak to and around, about 30 minute drive to downtown Halifax - all good.
We barbecued and did most of our meals in the well equipped kitchen.
The living room easily accommodated our five adults and two children and the four bedrooms are all roomy enough for comfort, especially the master bedroom with huge ensuite bathroom.
We will be back for another east coast vacation and to Sunrise at Sol Point."

"We spent one week at the cottage back in 2011 so when I had the chance to spend my sabbatical of 4 weeks there I jumped at the idea. It was the perfect place to spend an extended time away to relax, renew, and rejuvenate ourselves. We enjoyed waking up each morning and spending time on the porch drinking coffee while we watched the constant parade of seabirds going here and there. We saw new ones we did not know existed which as a family of auks (murres) with their little white chests as they would dive underneath the water searching for food. We saw other birds that are not seabirds also, such as two bald eagles and an osprey. We saw a seal out in the bay twice as he swam here and there. It was a wonderful place to relax and enjoy nature.
The cottage does not have television or the internet which was also great. For four weeks we never heard a negative news story about wars or strife or world problems. We listened to a station in French on the radio so that we heard a variety of music in both English and French but could not understand anything the announcers would say. Having a break from the media was great in that it allowed me to read 6 books while I was there also, something I need to do more often but do not seem to find the time while at home.
We cooked in the well-supplied kitchen daily and got the hang of sorting out the trash for recycling, which is something that Nova Scotia leads Canada in and beats most of the US in doing. It was no problem, just something that we did since that is the way that people live in Nova Scotia. We got our seafood at the nearby Nautical Seafoods, just up the hill from the cottage and enjoyed scallops on a regular basis. We shopped the Saturday Market in Annapolis Royal each week and drove to the Wednesday Market in Kentville on three different Wednesdays. We looked around the area and took day trips here and there exploring the Acadian Coast and the Annapolis Valley. The farthest from the cottage we went was for a night away on Cape Breton Island where we attended a Ceilidh and had some fabulous chowder. Otherwise, we stayed within 100 kilometers of the cottage most of the time.
I would highly recommend this cottage for anyone who wants peace and quiet and tranquility. It was just what we wanted in order to recharge our emotional batteries."
