"We stayed there with another couple in October, 2914 during the peak of foliage season. The house is isolated and has a spectacular water view. A kayak and canoe are provided for use in the pond behind the house.
There are many walking trails on the property with lot of room for the kids and dogs to play outside.
For those that want to travel, The Writer's Retreat is centrally located in Nova Scotia with easy access to Cape Breton, the Cabot Trail and the Ceildh Trail. It is also possible to do day trips to Halifax and PEI. Antigonish is just 20 minutes away.
The house is nicely decorated and has 5 deck with great views. The upper level with the master bedroom, bathroom and a sitting area with a desk is especially attractive.
The owner is extremely accommodating and friendly and has caregivers nearby if needed in her absence.
Staying at The Writer's Retreat was a great decision. It provided a home away from home for a fabulous vacation!"

"We had a wonderful time during our visit to Neil's Harbour. The cottage was clean, spacious, and had everything we needed for a relaxed stay. With three large bedrooms and extra sofa beds in the living room, there was plenty of room for our family. The private deck was nice for a quiet morning coffee or just a place to take a break with a book. The owners, Greg and Jackie, live right next door and were helpful pointing out all the best things to see during our stay. Neil's Harbour is a beautiful place to stop over in Cape Breton and we would highly recommend staying at this cottage."

"I was struggling to decide on which hotel room to book in downtown Halifax. Was going to be there with my 23-year-old son to help him pack up his place after he graduated university. All the hotel rooms were so small and then on top of most of them you had to pay for parking and Internet. I came across this Condo And the rate worked out to be not much more than what I was seeing for hotel rooms so I booked it. The owners were very responsive by email. The place looked exactly as it does in the pictures. It was clean and had the comfiest couch. The underground parking was fantastic so I never had to worry if there was a spot available on the street. I had a small SUV and I had no trouble parking it. You can literally walk everywhere downtown. From the waterfront boardwalk and the market to the grocery store to Spring Garden Road to restaurants. It was great to have two separate bedroom spaces so my son could have his privacy instead of sharing a small hotel room with his mother for the week. Felt just like being in your own home. Amazing to have so much space for not much more than the price of a hotel room. I would recommend this place to anyone staying downtown Halifax."

"This property is located one block's walk from the center of Mahone Bay: a small town with delicious restaurants, a well-stocked grocery store, and sport rentals galore! We were able to walk to kayak rentals, do local hikes, and rent bicycles without starting the car. The accommodations are clean, beds comfortable, plenty of hot water for showers. It met our needs perfectly! The hosts live on the property, which was handy for when we had a question about other expeditions further away. High marks"
