  • Great base for visiting Halifax and Nova Scotia

"We stayed for 10 days in order to both move our daughter into university and visit Nova Scotia for the first time. The condo looks exactly like the photos. After an initial rocky start because there was a problem with a breaker and some lights and the wireless were not working for 2 days (teenagers were in initial hysterics), we really enjoyed our stay. The owner was super responsive when contacted and so was the super of the building (helped with the electricity problem). The condo was a great space for our family of 4. The neighborhood is very cute and there are banks, pharmacies and restaurants within a block. The building is quiet (some traffic noise during rush hours). The Halifax ferry is right across the street. There is a great view from the balcony of the Harbour, particularly at night the lights and bridge are beautiful. Having a indoor parking space was wonderful because our car was always full of items purchased for moving into university residence. Dalhousie was only 15 minutes by car. The best shopping is in Dartmouth (MicMac mall and Dartmouth Crossing). The bed in the master bedroom is very comfortable. The washer and dryer work well and there is a dishwasher. The only negatives were that the building is a bit dated, the bed in the second bedroom is very hard, the exercise room is small and humid and the building tenants are of an older age category and thus my teenagers felt a bit of of place. Overall a good space and location for visiting all that Nova Scotia has to offer."

  • PERFECT!!!

"I've just arrived back home after having the pleasure of staying with my family at Swallow's Nest for 5 days. This place is amazing. The cottage itself is sprawling, extremely well equipped, and very charming. The property with its views is gorgeous and private. Our family vacation consisted of 2 couples, a single adult and a 5 year old. Swallow's Nest suited our needs perfectly. Our vacation was a combination of visiting our extended family as well as sight seeing and I can't recommend this property enough as a home base. It's a very convenient location for a range of activities. And the animal lovers in our family were thrilled to visit the pigs, chickens, goose and Jack (the farm's dog) everyday. I absolutely loved staying here and hope I will again. The pictures don't do it justice ;)"

  • Absolutely Amazing

"We had the pleasure to stay in this amazing cottage for a week and Absolutely enjoyed ourselves. The owner's Elsie and Blaise were very welcoming and made us feel at home. They had available anything you could possibly need and the cottages was far above our expectations. With a canoe at your use, bikes and a lovely hot tub, you couldn't ask for anything more. And so close to the ocean! I only wish I could have stayed longer and we will definitely be back. Also the girls both loved it.This cottage has things to do for all ages!"

  • Picturesque village, crisp breeze, breathtaking sunset

"My wife and I arrived to the sleepy little village of Prospect early in the morning to find our "home" for the week cozy and impeccably kept. The cottage is nestled just on the edge of the bay with a glorious view of the water. Whether you are looking to see the sights or relax by the fireplace on the chilly nights, Marshwind offers a little bit of something for everyone. Plenty of places nearby to purchase local food for those who like to cook, and a variety of restaurants in nearby Halifax, for those who prefer to leave the dishes to someone else. The owner was most helpful from start to finish and provided insider tips for our stay. Without a doubt, we plan to re-visit Marshwind."
