  • Amazing Get Away - Want to return already

"We loved our stay at Peggy's Cottage. The area is amazing, and the cute cottage is icing on the cake. Here are some of the great things, in no particular order. I cannot think of one downside to the cottage - it really was perfect. -- quiet and relaxed, but within 10 minutes of Annapolis Royal -- Annapolis Royal was our favorite little town that we visited in Nova Scotia, we loved walking around the historic town and the Graveyard tour very much -- close to some wonderful hikes - within 10-15 minute drive (Delap's Cove Hikes have amazing shore/rock views) -- down the street from Nautical Seafood which will steam up lobster for you that are very fresh and at a great price, you can bring them back to the cottage to feast -- Peggy and Rex are right down the street, so you can say hello and get advice, they are super friendly -- there is no cell reception or internet - for me that was a big plus b/c I work on the computer all day, so it was a great break, you just need to drive into Annapolis Royal and go to 1 of their cute coffee shops (there are a few), and you can get on the internet -- the cottage has a very Nova Scotian feel - it is historic, but has been updated wonderfully for comfort and charm, we slept with the windows open and it was amazing -- the cottage is outfitted with everything you might need, we felt very well taken care of and it was very clean (and I can be a tough critic when it comes to cleanliness in rentals/hotels) -- wonderful water/shore access. I spent hours walking around the rocky shore - and found a neat collection of beautiful, smooth rocks to bring home with me -- great view of the bay from downstairs relaxing room and upstairs bedroom -- neat herb garden in the back - we used the mint in our tea -- grill and fire pit in the yard - did not use these, but should have -- nice relaxing room and outside porch as well - many places to relax and watch/listen to the bay Thanks Peggy!"

  • A Remote Getaway

"Although the weather did not cooperate (we were in rain and white blanket of fog for the majority of our visit) my partner and I enjoyed our two night stay at "the End of the Earth". The accommodation was bright, clean, and cozy. If the fog had lifted we are sure the views would have been spectacular. For those travelling here for the first time - do pay attention to the name of this place as it is quite accurate. It is a great vacation rental for outdoor enthusiasts - especially hikers. And it is a terrific place for anyone who wants to get away from it all. However it is not the place for everyone. My 75 year old father found the accommodation to be too remote. And the trails near the place were too wild, wet and slippery for his hiking ability. And although we gave him the master bedroom with the large bed (my partner and I slept together on the bottom bunk of the twin beds in the spare room), he remained uncomfortable with the remoteness. A recommendation for the owners - consider replacing the twin beds with a double bed (the roll away can help for families). And do consider adding some utensils for eating lobster!"

  • Wonderful home!

"This is the 4th vacation home I've rented and is the BEST by far. This cottage is well-kept along with all the amenities, including rain coats, laundry soap, paper products, etc. The view is spectacular and the hike to the shore is beautiful (wish I was there when the roses were blooming). The home is very comfortable and at one point, we had 6 adults and 4 small dogs living harmoniously together. It is obvious that the owners are dog lovers, which are the best people in the world. Also, the caretakers are very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back! Thanks so much."

  • Happy in Hubbards

"I stayed at the cottage for the month of August 2014. It is a very nice cottage in a truly wonderful location. It is clean and well maintained. The deck is the best part. I spent hours watching the boats, the birds, and the tide coming in and out. It is a work in progress and I know Matthias will make a great cottage outstanding. He was the best owner ever. He responded to my every need in a timely way. The very steep stairs to the loft would be difficult for many, but with two bedrooms on the main floor, I didn't need the upper level. I would highly recommend this property to anyone."
