"I just want to say I have enjoyed every minute of my whole week at this cottage. What a beautiful sight and such a gorgeous place to relax. Everything we needed was all for us to use. I loved the hot tub and Sauna was also the best. Such a clean place so immaculate . I know this is a vacation I will never forget . I got to spend it with my family and my grandkids and watch them swim ashore and we all played games, the shuffle board sure was handy also . Of course the paddle boat was my favorite too . The week went by too fast for us I wish I could have spend another week .The owner welcomed us and was very helpful .I certainly would recommend this place to anyone who really want a great and relaxing place to spend their vacation at. I know I would be prepared to do it again. There wasn't one bad thing to say about this place and I know whoever rents it will say the same. We are so fortunate to be able to rent these cottages not too many have all the accommodation we need and not have to bring anything but food with us. Thank you Sharon and hope to see you again ........"

  • Great Place for Larger Groups!

"Myself and 5 others stayed in this walk-up for one week during the Toronto World Pride celebrations. The location was great, especially since the majority of us were new to Toronto. There were many amenities nearby, including many restaurants, a grocery store and liquor store. The house fit us all comfortably, and we all agreed it was much more economical than sharing a pair of hotel rooms. That being said there were certain drawbacks. Our main complaint was the heat. No AC or electric fans were provided which made being inside almost unbearable at times, and it was especially difficult trying to sleep in the upstairs bedroom. In addition the sink in one of the bathrooms did not drain properly, and this was not fixed despite our email to the owner. As well there was no soap in the bathrooms when we arrived; we had to purchase some ourselves. Nevertheless I would recommend this place for families or groups of friends looking to enjoy Toronto."

  • And we're not even artists...

"But we love Artist's Cottage. I've been there three times in the last year and each time was great. At one point the kettle stopped working and a new one appeared on the doorstep within hours. Great service. In summer the backyard is a dream, in rainy fall weather the living room fireplace is heaven. Great spot."

  • Great beach/lake for families

"We just returned from a week at this cottage on Lake Farlain. It was a low-key family vacation with our 2-year-old twins and their grandparents, though we did have a few additional family members stay a couple of nights at a time. For the most part, we all fit comfortably on the upper/main level of the cottage in the 3 spacious bedrooms, updated bathroom, living room and kitchen areas. However, the nights that we did have additional guests, we were required to use the fourth bedroom located on the lower level of the cottage. I cannot say enough about how pleased we were with the beach front and lake. It was much better than I had even anticipated. The lake is relatively small, though large enough for power boating, waterskiing, and jet skis. Very calm and shallow, sandy water leading to deep enough water to swim at the end of the dock. Our toddlers absolutely loved playing in the sand and wading in and out of the water without us having to be hypervigilant. The property the cottage is on is fairly large and private as well with no immediate neighbours to one side and several cottages fairly well spaced out to the opposite side. The cottage came equipped with many staples that could be needed, like cleaning supplies, toys and games, lots of towels, and most everything you would need for cooking in the kitchen. The cleaner had done an immaculate job prior to our arrival as well. I had no complaints about the main level of the cottage at all! However, the main problem we experienced was with the basement/4th bedroom area. It appeared fine, but smelled and felt damp right off the bat. However, when we did have a few extra bodies visiting at night, we quickly learned that there is a major earwig/bug problem in the basement that came out at night. They were everywhere... coming out of the ceiling tiles and lights above the bed and throughout the basement! Our guests actually moved up to the living area floor their first night and set up their tent outside on the second night because that was preferable to the "fourth bedroom". We are all well experienced with spending time up north and cottaging, and recognize there are always bugs to a certain extent, but this was well above and beyond anything we have ever experienced! I really feel this cottage should be advertised as only a 3-bedroom and priced accordingly for that reason! Other than that, we had a fantastic trip! I would replace steps from the deck to yard as they are steep and dangerous though."
