"Our trip to Lion's Head was terrific! We enjoyed walking out the back door to hike along the Bruce trail, fires in the fire pit, walks along the beach stones down below the cottage and many site seeing drives and boat trips. Our weather was great, but even on a windy day the large picture window brought the outside in. Contacting the owner was easy and she was very responsive and friendly. The instructions for arrival were simple. The cottage upon entry was very clean and had all the amenities required for preparing meals. The beds were super comfy with lovely bedding. The TV reception was poor, but with the lake and gorgeous sunsets to watch was not missed. We would highly recommend a stay at this cottage."

Great location, great space for a big group, but some maintenance/planning improvements needed
"We had 8 people stay for 5 nights consisting of two grandparents in upper 60s, two couples in their 30s, and two boys ages 7 and 4. The location is excellent, especially if you want a home environment where the family can gather in the evenings to talk and play games. There are two parks in walking distance, and one includes a playground. One park overlooks Lake Ontario! For sightseeing, you need 30 minutes to get to/from the downtown Toronto. There is a nice beach between the home and downtown Toronto. It was a great fit for our group. The subdivision is being revialized, so expect some construction. The other homeowners care about their properties, and the area had a nice family feel about it.
The home is very spacious! It was nice after walking through sightseeing attractions to be able to spread out. Kids had plenty of room to to play. The home was sparsely populated with furniture, but that keeps an open feel and less stuff for kids to damage. The only design issue is that there are steps required to get into the house, and there are no bedrooms on the main level. If a member of your group has issues with stairs, they will have no option. The steps are very nice with extra handrails and a landing in the middle of each flight, so it was ok for us.
There were frustrations to our stay which is why I have ranked it as "good". The home could use some extra maintenance. The kids had black feet and knees from dust after playing the first evening, so we had to do our own counter and floor cleaning to get things to par. The front door handle is bent and failing. The Internet Wifi router is in the basement which means the master bedroom and two other upstairs bedrooms did not have enough signal to stay connected. Internet worked fine on main and lower levels. None of the cable TV boxes were working. The A/C was in working order, but the upstairs bedrooms were warmer than desired while the basement was very cool. Ceiling fans or standing fans would have made those upstairs rooms much more comfortable for sleeping. (We were there during a heat wave.) Kitchen appliances all worked with exception of freezer's automatic ice. Appliances and utensils/pots/bowls were all clean and good. A few measuring cups/bowls would be nice! The gas grill was out of gas. The showers had some mold in the grout. Plenty of hot water for showers, although one had low pressure, likely a clogged shower head.
We would consider staying here again."

"We loved our stay at Heritage Trail Cottage. This home is comfortable, spacious, and welcoming and in a quiet neighbourhood, but yet close to everything. The house is within easy walking distance of the main street, and the lake. As noted by other guests, the extra touches, such as a binder full of information, and wine tasting coupons, enhanced the guest experience. Karen was delightful and helpful from the moment of booking to the moment of arrival. Without hesitation we would return another time. Thanks, Karen, for providing such a lovely home for your guests."

"This beautiful house was our home for 3 days and provided ample room to comfortably accommodate our family of 2 adults and 2 children (ages 9-14). The kitchen was well stocked. We enjoyed the large community pool. It is conveniently located with easy access to the Blue mountain village and other attractions in Collingwood area. The owner graciously and promptly provided us with all sorts of information, the booking process was very smooth. We had an absolutely super time and we highly recommend this property."
