  • Amazing!

"Stayed here for 2 nights. The kitchen has been re-done and is so beautiful! The chalet itself is very unique and well kept. Feels like a cottage with space like a chalet :) unfortunately it was raining the two days we were there, but the village is just a 10 minute drive, to explore and do activities and there are games, movies, BBQ to entertain on rainy days. I would definitely recommend this place if you are looking to get away and relax with a solid group of friends. Thanks again!"

  • A perfect cottage for a family gathering

"Not sure what we can add to what people have already said who have fully described the property... Rowanlea is a classic traditional Canadian cottage – the kind they don’t build any more. The kitchen is exceptional, replete with cooking equipment and large pantry type cupboards containing plenty of crockery, glasses and commonly needed staples such as spices. It has a gigantic working counter open to the dining room with its huge table and ten chairs. When you add the BBQ outside it allowed easy cooking even for a crowd. Depending on the weather we were able to switch between eating in the dining room and on the adjacent rear deck and even with a large group have everyone seated together at a single table. This was very special. Laundry and bathroom facilities are very good. Loads of sleeping spaces are dotted between the two levels in both the main cottage and the boat house. Loved the books, artworks, musical instruments, comfortable furniture, bits and pieces from the family's life that we were allowed to share. Lights, electricity coped admirably with our demands. Hot water nearly did. We did have more people than usual staying at the cabin so the hot water situation nudged past the critical point. Loved the added space of the boathouse and the privacy of the dock. So many special spaces on the grounds for a little privacy, a fire at night, all kinds of games on the lawn, accessible parking, treed site, boats, lake views (those sunsets!). The amount of room available allowing all to have a private space should be noted. The cottage is easy to reach by routes both direct and scenic from the city and stores for all needs are found within an easy drive. There is a large garbage holder at the road that safely houses filled garbage, recycling and compost containers until collection day. The cottage is on well water but a water cooler/dispenser is provided. In short, Rowanlea was just about perfect for our family gathering and will be remembered fondly for years."

  • Charming, spotless, light-filled apartment

"Proved perfect for us as we needed a place for 4 nights with our Toronto home under renovation. Fantastic, heart of the city (near Summerhill) on a gorgeous tree-lined street with Victorian houses on either side, street parking for our 2 cars and a patisserie 2 blocks away. Light filled designer apartment with kitchen, full laundry and great shower. Will keep top of mind when a 'staycation' is required (with parks, top restaurants and boutiques nearby). Have already booked the apartment for my mother's visit next spring (when the private garden will be in bloom and terrace will be at its best)."

  • A Piece of Heaven on Healey Lake!

"We have rented cottages in the past and this one was by far the best we have ever stayed at. The property is stunning and the large windows all around the cottage give beautiful views. Our group of 8 plus 5 kiddies were more than comfortable and even on the couple rainy days we had, we didn't feel like we were on top of each other. The owners seem to have thought of everything when building this cottage as we absolutely wanted for nothing. The lake was perfect for swimming for kids and adults with a shallow sandy area by the fire pit and was nice and deep by the dock. We will definitely be back!"
