"Had a very relaxing couple of weeks here. Ideal for quiet reading, meditation, catching up on movies and dvds. Cabin is situated on the top of a hill so it's a bit of a hike to get up and down to the lake. There is no beach or swimming at the property. You will need to paddle out to one of the swimming platforms. Fairly quick drive to town to get any supplies you need. No issues with the cabin. It's very rustic and charming but surprisingly large. The very large screened-in room was a favourite spot to read. Only quibble would be that the mattresses were somewhat uncomfortable but that is often the charm of roughing it in the woods. I expect I'll be back again."

"My sister was visiting from California. We rented Waynes cabin with three other friends. Five women! We had a wonderful time. We took advantage of all the cabin and property had to offer. Saunas. Firepit at night with s'mores. Kayaking. Hiking. Fires in the evening in the cabin. The mornings are extraordinary if you like to get up early. The mist oen the lake combined with the wildlife waking up is breathtaking. The lake is delightful for kayaking and canoeing. My grandfather owned 100 acres in northern Ontario and this place took me back to my childhood and the wonder and awe of natures simplicity. You never have to leave the property but if you do, it is very close to both Haliburton and Minden. The area is rich with artists studios and galleries. This cabin is not to be missed! Oh, and the chipmunks (fondly chippies) will keep a smile on your face as they dash across the deck in their search for acorns. Truly a place to let go of the everyday stresses and just be in the moment."

"Our family just returned from an excellent stay at Robb's cottage. We rented along with another family, so we were 4 adults and 4 kids (ages 6, 4, 3 and 16 months). The cottage itself was a great size, and very well-equipped. The adults were able to stay on the top floor which is the addition, and the kids stayed on the main level, each with their own bedroom (toddler was in a portable crib in the king bedroom upstairs as there was plenty of room). The kids also had their own bathroom. There were plenty of movies to keep them occupied inside the cottage, although they spent the majority of time outdoors where it was perfect for small children. There was a sandy area behind the firepit for them to play, as well as a beach area where they could wade into the water well beyond the dock. The water was very clear and perfect to practice their swimming skills. We also enjoyed some great campfires, and loved hearing the family of loons every day. We used the kayak, peddle boat and canoe almost daily. We met some of the neighbours on the lake and they were all very friendly and hospitable. The proximity to the grocery store was perfect, and we also enjoyed some pizza one night from the restaurant nearby. Robb was great to work with along the way and was very quick to answer any questions that we might have. We would love to return another year for some more adventures at Southview! Thanks Robb!"
