"This is my second stay here, and it is just as terrific as the first!!. The apartment is cute, roomy and very well equipped - lots of dishes, glasses, pots and pans, etc and a dishwasher and apartment size washer and dryer. Bed extremely comfortable (king size), and the linens are very good quality. Everytime I went out and came back, felt like I was coming home. There is no need for a car, two blocks down to the boardwalk along the beach, about a 1 minute walk to the streetcar stop which will take you downtown. But no need to leave the area, lots of shopping, restaurants, access to grocery stores, pharmacy, post office etc. It is located over an art gallery so need to be able to do the stairs. Our kids live near buy so this is a perfect location for us. David and Valerie are very nice and helpful. This is definitely our Toronto home now whenever we visit the kids."

"We just returned from a week at this cottage on Lake Farlain. It was a low-key family vacation with our 2-year-old twins and their grandparents, though we did have a few additional family members stay a couple of nights at a time. For the most part, we all fit comfortably on the upper/main level of the cottage in the 3 spacious bedrooms, updated bathroom, living room and kitchen areas. However, the nights that we did have additional guests, we were required to use the fourth bedroom located on the lower level of the cottage.
I cannot say enough about how pleased we were with the beach front and lake. It was much better than I had even anticipated. The lake is relatively small, though large enough for power boating, waterskiing, and jet skis. Very calm and shallow, sandy water leading to deep enough water to swim at the end of the dock. Our toddlers absolutely loved playing in the sand and wading in and out of the water without us having to be hypervigilant. The property the cottage is on is fairly large and private as well with no immediate neighbours to one side and several cottages fairly well spaced out to the opposite side.
The cottage came equipped with many staples that could be needed, like cleaning supplies, toys and games, lots of towels, and most everything you would need for cooking in the kitchen. The cleaner had done an immaculate job prior to our arrival as well. I had no complaints about the main level of the cottage at all!
However, the main problem we experienced was with the basement/4th bedroom area. It appeared fine, but smelled and felt damp right off the bat. However, when we did have a few extra bodies visiting at night, we quickly learned that there is a major earwig/bug problem in the basement that came out at night. They were everywhere... coming out of the ceiling tiles and lights above the bed and throughout the basement! Our guests actually moved up to the living area floor their first night and set up their tent outside on the second night because that was preferable to the "fourth bedroom". We are all well experienced with spending time up north and cottaging, and recognize there are always bugs to a certain extent, but this was well above and beyond anything we have ever experienced! I really feel this cottage should be advertised as only a 3-bedroom and priced accordingly for that reason! Other than that, we had a fantastic trip!
I would replace steps from the deck to yard as they are steep and dangerous though."

"My family and I recently stayed in Robb's lovely cottage. There was plenty of room for the whole extended family - four couples and a few kids. The cottage was very clean and equipped with anything a renter might need or want. Robb was a pleasure to deal with and made every effort to make sure our stay was perfect (Thanks Robb!). My 3 year old nephew loved the shallow, sandy entry to the lake. It provided hours of excavation fun with his trucks. My teenage daughter enjoyed sunbathing on the dock. My husband was thrilled to go fishing early every morning. We are avid boaters and we brought our boat so the kids could ski and tube which they loved. My sisters and I hiked every morning on the trails right near the cottage, then swam across the lake to cool off. My mom enjoyed sitting in the shade watching everyone and doing her crosswords. We all enjoyed using the kayak and peddle boat. This cottage has something for everyone! The natural beauty of this small lake is breath-taking. We didn't want to leave at the end of our week."
