  • So Private and Tranquil

"My sister was visiting from California. We rented Waynes cabin with three other friends. Five women! We had a wonderful time. We took advantage of all the cabin and property had to offer. Saunas. Firepit at night with s'mores. Kayaking. Hiking. Fires in the evening in the cabin. The mornings are extraordinary if you like to get up early. The mist oen the lake combined with the wildlife waking up is breathtaking. The lake is delightful for kayaking and canoeing. My grandfather owned 100 acres in northern Ontario and this place took me back to my childhood and the wonder and awe of natures simplicity. You never have to leave the property but if you do, it is very close to both Haliburton and Minden. The area is rich with artists studios and galleries. This cabin is not to be missed! Oh, and the chipmunks (fondly chippies) will keep a smile on your face as they dash across the deck in their search for acorns. Truly a place to let go of the everyday stresses and just be in the moment."

  • bright funky condo

"This is our second time staying at the condo and we love it. We come for 2 weeks for work each year and although we are mostly at work we find this an ideal location to come home to each night. The kitchen is set up so that we can make all our meals there and there is a fantastic little grocery store one block away with good veggies and essentials open till 9pm every day. The condo is comfy and very funky. There is a loft in the bedroom where our kids can sleep and it is very quiet despite it being on Queen St. The bathroom is very small and there is no bath but these are small inconveniences given all the pluses of the place. The condo is very close to a park for running and a pool for a morning swim. The owners are always contactable and have been very helpful when we had a problem."

  • Magical Place

"My friends and I are a group of designers, engineers, and artists who are simply drawn to beauty, harmony and nature. We travel and welcome new possibilities. To ring in the new year (2014), we decided to get away from the madness in Toronto and resort to a cottage accessible from Montreal (for those of us who live there). I found Bob's Lake Cottages through an online search, and merely by accident and fell in love. The website was comprehensive, informative and clear. After corresponding with Marla, who had built the cottages and properties over the years, I was certain that this is the place we wanted to be for a few days. And it was magical. The cottages were beautifully designed, decorated and were well-equipped with everything that we needed, including comfortable rooms, beds, vintage pieces, kitchen appliances, hammocks, fireplace, wifi, and etc. We played board games, listen to music, and even though it was reported that Ontario had been colder than Mars and the North Pole during that time, we were warm and happy."
