  • Totally relaxing stay to get away from it all

"We stayed at Patricia's lovely lakehouse last weekend and had such a wonderful time. First off, Patricia is a super nice lady who will show you around and be available if you need anything during your stay (unlikely given that pretty much everythign is provided for you!) Be aware, that the rental is only for the lake house - you wont have access to the larger home which is occupied by the owner :) The acre property is huge and litterally right on the water. As you approach, you have your own parking area behind gates. Youll see the fire pit area (unfortunately we only used it one night -- too exhuasted from all our swiming and kayaking) and a beautiful agrden area. The shower is outdoors but surprisingly really nice and refreshing after a day in the lake. The water temeprature was perfect and pressure right on. We were lucky enough to be able to bring our dog with us - and she just loved it here. The lakehouse is situated below the house, down a winding staircase thats quite pretty. Once you see the lake it litteally takes your breath away. We had a wonderful sleep each nice and it was so nice to hear the water and soft waves crashing. We had full use of the BBQ which we used often for our meals and the room is furnished with a small refridgerator. Patricia gave us soem fresh herbs from her garden to use in our cooking which went awesome with our roasted potatoes and beer can chicken! :) She also allowed us use of her kayak which we couldnt get enough of. The water is crystal clear and so clean and refreshing. My only suggestions for future would be: maybe a bigger fridge down the road? lol we packed alot of food and beverages so it was ab it hard to stuff it all in there. Also a mosquito net over the bed would be sooo amazing. We had a bit of trouble findign the pots and pans and plates for use - but with a bit of diggin around we found them! Overall, we would definately recommend this property for people looking to escape it all. We didnt have any luck with connecting to wi-fi or even beign able to make any phone calls but to be honest...that was part of the reason why we had such a good relaxing stay. It was a great opportunity to get away from it all. LCBO and grocery store is 10 mins away by car. Super convenient! Thanks again Patricia! Fio, Adam and Bayleigh"

  • So Private and Tranquil

"My sister was visiting from California. We rented Waynes cabin with three other friends. Five women! We had a wonderful time. We took advantage of all the cabin and property had to offer. Saunas. Firepit at night with s'mores. Kayaking. Hiking. Fires in the evening in the cabin. The mornings are extraordinary if you like to get up early. The mist oen the lake combined with the wildlife waking up is breathtaking. The lake is delightful for kayaking and canoeing. My grandfather owned 100 acres in northern Ontario and this place took me back to my childhood and the wonder and awe of natures simplicity. You never have to leave the property but if you do, it is very close to both Haliburton and Minden. The area is rich with artists studios and galleries. This cabin is not to be missed! Oh, and the chipmunks (fondly chippies) will keep a smile on your face as they dash across the deck in their search for acorns. Truly a place to let go of the everyday stresses and just be in the moment."

  • Best cottage we've stayed in

"We booked last minute and had no expectations. Drove 90 minutes from Toronto and came to a beautiful secluded cottage that answered all our wishes :) We were three families with kids and all slept comfortably. We love to cook so the kitchen was beyond good. Women said it's a dread kitchen. Equipped with all we needed. Pool can be heated so the kids stayed in the water most of the day. Adults were in the hot tub. Grocery shopping is only 10 minutes away. View of the bay is breathtaking. No Wi-Fi and very low signal for Rogers customers which for some might be a good thing :) Overall, worth every penny. We had a great time and would like to go back next year."

"We really enjoyed our stay at Chisholm House in Burlington. Brian was a great host and couldn't do enough for us. The house is Located in a very nice quiet neighbourhood opposite the lovely Brock Park, it stands in a great location, close to Downtown Burlington. Parking for two cars was great especially if you have family visiting. The house retains its old charm on the outside while having all modern amenities on the inside. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend this to anyone."
