  • Resort-quality Holiday

"Our week-long stay at Marysville’s Little Blue Cottage was like a Caribbean resort vacation, and we loved every minute of it! The beautiful whitewashed wooden boards and vibrant blue/green décor throughout the cottage’s interior was so relaxing and easy on the eyes. There is a large back deck with outdoor dining table / chairs plus a barbeque for dining al fresco, and an enormous well-shaded backyard with a lush lawn leading to several Adirondack chairs near the shore and dock for reading and sailboat-watching. Every morning, we did a coffee run to the funky new Café Tenango down the street and then darted across the road to get sticky buns from the Wolfe Island Bakery. But one of Wolfe Island’s best treasures is its little-known Big Sandy Bay beach, barely a 15-minute drive away. This gorgeous white-sand beach, fed by Lake Ontario, has shallow, clean waters, a sandy bottom, buoyant waves and plenty of breeze to take the edge off a hot, sticky day – as much fun as anything we’ve encountered during trips south, minus the salt water! We also took in a church supper, did a Taste of Wolfe Island tour of local farms, were awed by the island’s almost otherworldly (and quiet) wind turbines, and scooted over to Kingston to shop and dine there, since we could easily head down for a free ferry ride, given that the ferry runs constantly. The cottage owners were extremely helpful, and kindly arranged for me to catch a ride on a sailboat during the community’s weekly Family Race Night, after I had enquired about sailing opportunities. I highly recommend the Little Blue Cottage, and miss it already."

  • Quiet and practical cottage on a beautiful lake

"We recently rented this cottage for a week long family reunion (grandparents, parents, 2 kids and 2 dogs, 9 people total), and had the greatest vacation we've had in years! The cottage is really well kept, with all the amenities necessary (including the linens, towels and some staple items for cooking). We really enjoyed the screened porch and the deck to relax or BBQ, and the front yard where the kids could play safely. On rainy days, the house is big enough so that people can enjoy their privacy and avoid getting "cabin fever", and with enough distractions (wifi, TV, boardgames and books) to wait for the rain to go away. Besides the awesomeness of the house, we felt like we were alone on the lake, whenever we would fish (plenty of sunfishes and bass in this lake) or go canoeing (we were able to all go on the lake at the same time with the paddle-boat, the canoes and the kayak!) we could enjoy the scenery all by ourselves. All in all we had a fantastic and relaxing week, and we really hope we can go back next Summer, Thanks M&M!"

  • A True Treasure

"Treasure Island is a fitting name for the location of this lovely home. Ray and Ellen were great communicators and everything was as promised. The pictures say it all when it comes to the amenities and the beauty of staying here. Situated right on the St. Lawrence, the views are breathtaking and one cannot help but feeling like a welcomed guest in their very clean and tidy home. From the squirrel dropping acorns on our head to the fish jumping out of the river (which we could never catch), nature is all around and we felt very much a part of it. And, for all of our creature comforts, Kingston was only a 10 minute drive away, there are TV's galore, high speed Internet, and the tubs will relax away any tensions. A truly enjoyable stay and we highly recommend it to those wishing a beautiful home away from home. Many thanks!!"

  • A fun family gathering

"We chose Riverlee to hold a family-only birthday celebration for my mother-in-law this May and a great time was had by all. All generations showed up for a really enjoyable day of spending time together, a dinner feast with dancing, then a big sleep-over. The kids had a blast because of the proximity to the river, small playground, trampoline (that the owners generously allowed them to use), big outdoor patio and grass field big enough for frisbee or soccer. Adults enjoyed the views, kayaking on the river, and lounging on the patio. The bright and roomy kitchen with ample casserole dishes and pots allowed us each to make our 'best dish' contributions, while other family members sat at the big kitchen table to chat (or use their digital devices...wifi is available). The gas BBQ was appreciated by the 'I only do meat over fire' crowd. We were able to accommodate all 18 in the spacious dining room. The living room was converted into a dance-floor after dinner (with the help of our computer speakers). After the party, 12 of us stayed comfortably overnight... The owners of the property were gracious hosts, checking to make sure we had all we needed. They also recommended a visit to the nearby fort (Wellington) which we did on the way out of town. Another highlight of the trip! The house is very spacious and bright, a great place for a weekend away, especially if you want to bring a crowd!"
