  • Peaceful & Relaxing

"We spent a peaceful and relaxing week at Dave's Serenity. As seen on the listing, the cottage has many updates and provides many comforts. We enjoyed the amenities of the beautiful kitchen, especially the dishwasher and the beds were very comfortable. There are windows on 3 sides of the cottage providing an unobstructed view of the lake. During our stay we experienced a thunderstorm which provided an amazing light show from across the lake. We visited a local winery and took a trip into Kingsville to shop. The owners had recently purchased additional lounging chairs for the deck along with a chairs and a gas fire pit which we enjoyed in the evenings. Chris & Murray's priority is their guests' comfort and enjoyment. They were a pleasure to deal with, answering all our questions and requesting feedback at the end of our stay."

  • Exactly as described - perfect for a fishing retreat.

"We have passed by this little cottage on Hwy 15 and watched it transform into the "cosy cottage" it is now. Lovely pine interior. Nice lawn with amenities - patio table, chairs, umbrella, bbq, dock, picnic table. The linens on the beds were clean and fresh and the bathroom functioned beautifully. Much wildlife to see - 3 otters swimming in the bay, water snakes galore, loons and fish, fish everywhere. Had a fabulous time fishing - many, many bass were caught and released - the biggest was 3 lbs. 13 ozs. Kayaks were awesome and the weather mostly cooperated."

  • Fall in Canada

"We recently traveled from Southern California to spend a few days in the Toronto area and decided to travel up to Lake Couchiching and we are so glad that we did. Our stay here was perfect! We sat out in the sunroom every evening with a glass of wine and every morning with a cup of Tim Horton's coffee (wish we had it in So. Calif.) to enjoy the beauty all around us - Fall colors, beautiful water, Canadian geese, not to mention their beautiful, comfortable home. We all had large comfortable beds to sleep in (and that doesn't always happen) and we had everything at our finger tips. We traveled to small towns such as Bala and continued our Fall Color experience, along with antique hunting. We would highly recommend staying here and we hope to come back. My husband had hoped to fish right from the dock, but the water is shallow, so he had to seek other spots for fishing....But the fishing was very good...Water, water everywhere!"

  • Lovely stay in a lovely area

"The property is beautiful and well appointed, we found it easily and were able to let ourselves in following Janet's instructions. We had a lovely relaxing stay. Being foodies, we made good use of the wonderful stove and availed ourselves of the region's fine wines. Unfortunately, neither fireplace was in working order and while we were told only the top shelf of the refrigerator was not operating properly and freezing things, we actually wound up throwing out a bunch of herbs and veggies which were frozen and destroyed by the malfunctioning fridge. Cooking vessels/utensils were very limited and the pots and pans were not the cleanest. If everything had been as promised it would have been well worth the price as the house and the area are beautiful and we went for daily walks and bike rides on the lovely trail. There is lots to do and see and the home is lovely enough that just hanging out and chilling is also wonderful. With the minor fixes noted, I would definitely recommend it."
