"We arrived on the evening of August 15 and were absolutely thrilled by the cottage and its situation right on Lake Superior. What struck me first was how absolutely spotless the cottage was, beautifully clean, not to mention airy, spacious and comfortable. The hot tub was likewise spotless and lovely. My wife and 7 year old loved it as much as I did. We feel like we've found a home away from home. The cottage is well-situated for all kinds of fun activities: walking trails right out the door, kayaking, canoeing, swimming, Chippewa Park (great swimming in summer) (45 minutes), Pigeon River Provincial Park (25 minutes), Fort William Historical Park (45 minutes), Sleeping Giant Provincial Park (90 minutes). With the favourable exchange rate, we even did a lot of back to school shopping in Thunder Bay! If you are thinking about a vacation on Minnesota's North Shore, go the extra 90 minutes, save a LOT of money and revel in the mountains, rivers and lakes of the Thunder Bay area. Carolyn's cottage is not only beautiful, clean and comfortable, it is a significant bargain! One thing to remember is that you'll need to buy your fresh food in Canada. Not a bad idea to drive into Thunder Bay first thing (about 30 minutes from the turn off to the cottage) to stock up for the week. Speaking of food, we cooked all of our meals at the cottage, saving money for other, fun activities. The kitchen is a joy to cook in, and we loved the grill. Carolyn was great about responding to questions, and is a very thoughtful host. We're already looking forward to next summer's visit!"
