"If you need to escape this is the home for you!! Very private and quiet! We went when it was very cold and the radiant floor heat was beautiful as was the fireplace. The home was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. My only suggestion would be to bring along your own dvd selection as there is no satellite tv. (we played cards and board games= great together time !!)"

  • Weekend Getaway

"My wife, 1 1/2 year old daughter and myself recently enjoyed a very relaxing long weekend at this cozy cottage in Port Colborne. It had all of the amenities we needed, and was exactly as described on VRBO - no surprises, which is a good thing! The cottage was clean and comfortable, and the beach was great for reading, relaxing and an occasional dip. Add in a quick trip to the Port Colborne Farmer's Market, which made for some good home cooked meals, and it doesn't get much better. We look forward to another - hopefully longer - stay next summer!"

  • Perfect getaway spot!

"My girlfriends and I spent the past weekend at the Carriage House. Our hosts, Heidi and Peter were wonderfully accomodating, friendly and helpful! The accomodations were clean and had everything we needed - and more! There were lots of nice restaurants we could have checked out close by, but instead felt right at home eating dinner al fresco on the private patio. The location was perfect walking distance to the cute shops, cafés and restaurants on Main Street and a short (and beautiful) drive to Sandbanks and local wineries. It was such a relaxing weekend and I'm looking forward to our next visit (hopefully againt this summer!). Highly recommend it! Thanks Heidi and Peter for a memorable weekend stay!"

  • Magical Place

"My friends and I are a group of designers, engineers, and artists who are simply drawn to beauty, harmony and nature. We travel and welcome new possibilities. To ring in the new year (2014), we decided to get away from the madness in Toronto and resort to a cottage accessible from Montreal (for those of us who live there). I found Bob's Lake Cottages through an online search, and merely by accident and fell in love. The website was comprehensive, informative and clear. After corresponding with Marla, who had built the cottages and properties over the years, I was certain that this is the place we wanted to be for a few days. And it was magical. The cottages were beautifully designed, decorated and were well-equipped with everything that we needed, including comfortable rooms, beds, vintage pieces, kitchen appliances, hammocks, fireplace, wifi, and etc. We played board games, listen to music, and even though it was reported that Ontario had been colder than Mars and the North Pole during that time, we were warm and happy."
