  • Very pet friendly

"Wonderful location with lots of activity on water in front of cottage. Mary & Ian were very welcoming. Ian had great ideas for hiking plus wandering about the town of Gibsons Landing. Cottage is about 10 minutes from town so is very quiet. Wonderful views of sunset & sunrise from cottage AND the bed. Well equipped kitchen for cooking meals in, plus the bbq. Dogs loved the freedom. Breakfasts were to die for! So nice to have breakfast delivered hot to room at your requested time. Thanks again!"

  • Great for large groups

"This place is perfect for a large group or multiple families with young children. It has 5 bedrooms. You can fit lots of people. Large enough for the kids to be able to run around a little bit. It's location is great. It's located on the edge of Whistler village. Close enough to everything, but far enough that you won't be hearing all the noise from the crowds at night. About a 5 minute walk to the main Gondola. Great for the kids. There are 3 free parking spaces in the garage. There is a garage literally attached to the building where you can pay $10/24 hours. It's the only house/condo in the building. The bottom floor is RBC (Royal Bank of Canada). Above that is the Whistler Wired office and some restaurants. Subway, Harajuku (Japanese) and an attached small Japanese market. Across the parking lot is a grocery store. The rest of the building is your condo. Your kids can be almost be as loud as they want and no one would care. Hot tub is great, especially after a long day on the slopes. Only drawback is that you have to walk through the master bedroom to get there. Didn't get to try the sauna, but they have one. They have plenty of storage area for boards/skis/boots. Lot of hooks everywhere to hang sweaters and jackets. There even is an elevator that comes up to your condo from the garage. Each room has a separate thermostat so you can personalize your temp. The condo shows its age in some areas, but otherwise has been nicely updated/renovated and well maintained. Will definitely be staying here again if we come with a large group."

  • I'm always suspicious when a review is too good. It could be written by the owner or agent.

"But I am not the owner or agent - just an over 60 year old woman with three kids and five grandkids three generations all had the wonderful experience of staying in the Lake House. It's a charming place that is full of character and interesting details. Everything you need is there - from games, to water toys, videos and DVD's, to recliners for those of us that like to nap, comfortable beds, very clean - and all the cooking utensils you could want. As I love to cook and my son is a chef, that is saying a great deal. Lots of nooks and crannies on the properties with chairs to sit and look at the view. A wonderful deck overlooking the lake and a tremendous beach with a dock and a diving board. The water is warm and the beach is sandy. Easy to get to from Port Alberni. So many things to do at the cabin that we rushed our visits to town so we could get back (I was going to say "home again" because it feels like home and corrected myself). Our eclectic family spent four nights there and as soon as we got home, we booked a week next summer. One part of me wants to share this wonderful place with others - hence the review. The other part of me wants to keep it secret so we will always be able to book it. I guess I am taking the high road. Cathy B"

  • Wow!

"The moment my husband and i walked in, we knew we loved the cottage. Beautiful views from every window with lovely breezes throughout the place. Clean and organized. We loved cooking in the kitchen and found everything we needed from a salad spinner to corkscrew, just every utensil you could ever need. The deck was our favorite spot, over the lake and surrounded my mountains! We saw eagles every day and humming birds. (we saw deer a at the side of the road right before we got to the cottage) and also again on the way back from an afternoon at Twin Bays beach - which is just a couple of minutes down the road. At night the star gazing was truly amazing. We saw a shooting star one night lasted for several seconds and the tail was spectacular with all sort of colours. We also enjoyed going to Nelson one day and Creston for shopping. i would highly recommend this cottage. Thanks Lorene for making the whole process so easy and for all your helpful tips!"
