  • Exceptional property for our 3 generations Family

"I will start by saying the weather was not good. Cold and wet for the beginning of July. But the property more than made up for it. This is a first class home right on the water. It is very private and the only time you saw the neighbors was when you arrived or left. About 10 minutes into Keewatin for shopping. Amazing deck that my Mom spent most of her time on looking over the water. Good docking as we rented a boat for the week. Lots of room inside and good cooking facilities. Games room was great and even though we had lots of people you never felt crowded. Owners were very good to deal with and bent over backwards to make sure we had everything we needed. We plan to go again this year if stars align. Thanks again !!"

  • A Getaway with a Difference

"Vineeta and I are travelers, having been to about 25 countries across the world and over 100 destination cities. We also do the regular weekend trips around Toronto which is where we hang our humble hats. It was by happenstance while browsing the internet that we came across the Hoblet. We were instantly attracted by the good work that Petra and Mush were doing in rehabilitating less unfortunate animals. We read the reviews and looked at the pictures and decided to go for it. The internet does not do justice to what your eyes see and you experience when you reach. Nestled in the country, just about 90 odd minutes from Toronto, far from the maddening crowd yet close enough to Niagara regions attractions, it was a great choice. The welcome was warm, the weather was bright and the animals greeted us like long lost friends. In no time we were settled in, a hot cuppa was on the make and we took in the beautiful winter ambiance. Adults and Kids alike would love the animals and enjoy feeding them some apples, carrots or pears. As Niagara was only a 15 minute drive away, we did go down and do the usual tourist bit but we also enjoyed the country drive and a short visit to the town of Port Colbourne. Petra is very familiar with the attractions around so was very helpful in guiding us to some nice places to see. All in all, a great weekend, topped off by our team winning the Super Bowl. This was our white winter experience and now we look forward to a visit when the green will welcome us. Thanks Petra, Mush and the critters. Gautam and Vineeta Nath Toronto, Canada"

  • Amazing Experience in the Heart of Muskoka!

"I was initially a little bit unsure about going to a cottage in the Fall, thinking it might not be as fun as the Summer but I was completely wrong! This cottage is fully loaded with tons of fun stuff to do inside and out at any time of the year. It's right in the heart of the forest and on a beautiful secluded lake that barely has any other cottages in view. It was so peaceful on the water, you really feel like you are the only person for miles. After exploring the nature trails around the cottage during the day, we spent a few hours in the games room playing all my childhood favourites (Foosball, billiards, air hockey etc.) and if we ever got cold from sitting around the fire at night we would just pop into the sauna and warm up in seconds! I had a truly incredible experience and will most definitely be back!"

  • “No disappointments at Sunset view.”

"This cottage is a stunning, peaceful and well-kept slice of heaven. We were a group of seven adults and 4 kids and spent a whole week. Not a day was boring! The beautiful lake setting ever changing from Sunrise to Sunset is second to none. The cottage is big and so is the land surrounding it, the waterfront exposure is from all three sides and a perfect mix of sandy beach and Canadian Shield rocks. The kids loved playing at the sandy area, has a gradual shallow entry point, it averages 2ft. deep wading 15 meters out from the shore line even my elderly parents were encouraged to swim in it. A large covered deck which offered excellent protection from the weather where we had most of our meals, big table that could easily seat 14 people. The sheltered dock was perfect to keep our boats and equipments dry, on rainy days we could sit there and enjoy the view of the lake without getting wet. The interior is also spacious and has big glass windows facing the waterfront. There were even boardgames to keep the kids engaged they enjoyed lounging at the detached garage which is converted into a kids recreational room and has five additional beds. Campfires under the stars were the highlight point for the kids. Great location, a family vacation to remember! that ended up being one of the best cottage experiences any of us had. We usually try to go to different lakes every summer, however, this will be a location that we definitely return to."
