Overview of Anne's Land Vacation Rentals

Literary Enthusiasts Will Enjoy Staying at Anne’s Land Vacation Rentals

Anne’s Land is named after the literary character of Lucy Maud Montgomery’s novel Anne of Green Gables. A loveable and lively character in the novel, literary fans from all over the world have come to Prince Edward Island to experience the beautiful setting of the novel and relive some of the character's experiences.

Because most of the island is a National Park, little has changed in the past 100 years. The charming rural farmhouses, green fields and beautiful remote beaches are still as pristine today. Staying on the island, you may sometimes feel that you are being transported back in time. It’s a wonderful place to relax and immerse yourself in a literary wonder world. Many photographers come to Anne’s Land to take advantage of the scenic beauty and almost mystical island atmosphere. When you spend time on the island, it’s easy to see what inspired the great novels of L.M. Montgomery.

Best Time of Year to Visit Anne’s Land Vacation Homes

Wintertime on Prince Edward Island is long and cold and the island seems to go into winter hibernation. While the island is still beautiful, it is difficult to get around and explore. The springtime can still be a bit cool as the ice melts but in the summer the island once again comes to life. The best time to visit is during the summer and fall seasons. The summer evenings are warm and balmy and in fall the colors of the turning leaves bathe the island in rich hues. When visiting, you will want to stroll along the beautiful beaches, cycle the quiet roads, enjoy the island charm and explore historic sites, and summer is the best time to do this.

Anne’s Land Cottages to Rent

There is no better way to explore the island’s sights than to rent a vacation home. Comfortable and tastefully furnished, most rentals have a distinct "home away from home" feel about them. Choose from quaint beach cottages, historical old farm houses, and seaside chalets. Almost all are set in the most beautiful natural surroundings either overlooking the sea or cultivated farmlands. The vacation homes vary in size from one bedroom cottages to larger homes that can accommodate families. The farm homes are particularly suitable for kids as there’s loads of space for them to run around and explore. If you want to do a fair amount of sightseeing, you may want to choose a rental that is located in one of the towns. That way it’s easy to hire a car or bicycle to get around and go exploring. Kayaks are also available for rent and a great way to explore the coastline.

Attractions and Things to Do by Anne’s Land Rentals

There are several historic towns on Prince Edward Island that are worth visiting. Each has a wealth of museums, antique shops and interesting places to visit. When you plan your explorations, make sure you have time to stop in at Cavendish, Malpeque, North Rustico, Rustico and Stanley Bridge. Rustico in particular is a historic seaport. Many marine charters and fishing excursions depart from here. It’s also the best place to enjoy a deliciously fresh seafood meal.

You can make a stop in at the Fisheries Museum and learn about the town’s founder Rene Rassicot. He was a Norman peasant who established a fishing station that later became Rustico way back in 1725. Several other museums worth visiting are the Ripley’s Believe it or Not! Museum which has a host of bizarre exhibits; the Royal Atlantic Wax Museum, and the Keir Memorial Museum.
