  • Peace and Privacy on the North Shore!

"My husband and I enjoyed a blissful three weeks at this little cottage by the sea and would have loved to have stayed longer. There were no surprises! The information provided on VRBO is very descriptive and plenty of photos. This place is a little gem and we were delighted with our choice. We loved the privacy and the quiet along with the ability to get in the kitchen and enjoy the fresh local produce purchased at the near by market at Stanley Bridge on Wed. & Sat. mornings. You could also purchase ready made frozen meals and fresh bread at the market from Shipwrights Café that are fabulous! Yes....we would recommend Bay Wood Cottage and would love to return."

  • Private, comfortable, and charming...

"This charming house is so perfectly located on the island..The description given property is very accurate. It is so private, very quiet and peaceful. The house is very well stocked and so perfectly furnished...very comfortable. We have a dog and the front yard was perfect for her to run around and there is a wonderful beach minutes away that is dog friendly. At this time of year the beach was usually empty when we went. We also found other wonderful beaches close by that allowed dogs too... Malpeque harbor is minutes away if you want to buy fresh (off the boat) lobster and a fisheries outlet is 10 minutes away if you want other (oysters, mussels, clams). Darnley house was a perfect place for our 2 week vacation. We drove the whole island and it was so nice to come home to. Cathy was lovely to deal with before and during our rental. We would certainly recommend it to friends and family and plan to return next year."

  • Perfect getaway cottage

"We stayed at Captain's Rest for our Honeymoon and it was the perfect spot. Beautiful location, the cabin has all the amenities you could possibly want including internet, cable, fire pit, laundry, large kitchen and living room etc. The beach was a two minute drive down the road, location is just outside town so you were close to just about everything you could need/want. Also close to all kinds of little places to visit and see and not far from Cavendish, Charlottetown and Summerside. Particularly enjoyed the Haunted Mansion in Kensington. The area was quiet and the view is spectacular and had a nice big yard. Property manager was excellent the only time we needed to contact him was when we used up all the gas in the bbq tank and next morning there was a fresh tank and a bottle of wine on the step :) Property is well maintained and was clean upon arrival. Thouroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend to anyone looking to get away and enjoy the Island! We had a great time and didnt' want to come back home would love to go back again next Summer!"

  • highly recommended!

"What can we say - We loved our stay! The cottage was spacious and equipped with anything we could have wanted or needed. The views of the Darnley Basin from the covered porch were great and we had many great sunsets and watched bald eagles on the eagle stand with the binoculars provided. All the rooms were very spacious, comfortable and we loved the outdoor shower. We loved the close access (bottom of the street) to both the Darley Basin and Thunder Cove beach ( a quick 2 min drive, and walkable)and spent many hours walking the shoreline enjoying the red cliffs and dunes and wading in the Basin exploring the Basin floor. The location was great - a quiet location, not far to Kensington, where the confederation trail runs though, or to Cavendish and under an hour to Charlottetown. We didn't want to leave and we will definately be back next year. Thank you, Lewis Family!!"
