  • Great Stanhope Luxury Vacation Home

"Our host Don went out of his way to make sure that we were comfortable in this beautiful home providing all the amenities available as advertised. This home is positioned in an excellent location on the North Shore Parkland with exceptional views. Being a party of 7 people this home accommodated us extremely well and the 6 person hot tub was a very welcome feature, especially after a day of golf. Thanks again Don for being such a great host."

  • Great home in a great location

"We had a great 3 generation family vacation. The house is right on the tidal beach. We gathered our own clams, mussels and oysters - can't get any fresher than that. The house was very well equiped; comfortably rooms, full kitchen and laudry facilities. We used the barbeque, bicycles and kites. Thanks for a wonderful vacation!"

  • Truly an Island Gem!

"Our party of six recently returned to Northern Ontario after a one week stay at Fairfield House and we are already talking about returning again with a larger group! To say that our stay in this beautiful oceanfront century home was magical would be an understatement. In fact, I would easily attribute such glowing accolades at the risk of sounding over romantic, but with good reason. This home is spacious, bright, functional, beautifully appointed, private, updated, clean and happily situated on the scenic Augustine Cove. Although a historic house, it has new bathrooms and a very well stocked kitchen. There is also a spacious room with new laundry facilities and a walk-in ironing room. There are two living rooms with very comfortable sofas and chairs and a large sunroom that stretches across the front of the home facing the ocean. The outside deck is also large and well appointed with good quality adirondack chairs. There are added touches to the home such as two pairs of binoculars, tons of beach towels, books, tourist guides, magazines, jigsaw puzzles, games and a plethora of "Anne of Green Gables" material including a full set of the books. The bedrooms have amble closet space and the mattresses and linens are top quality. Although the home is furnished in a nice mix of antiques and modern furniture, you never get the feeling that the items are "hands off" and we felt right at home as soon as we walked in the door. The home is centrally located and easy to find. The drive to either Charlottetown or Summerside was easy and all the other attractions that PEI has to offer. As we are from Northern Ontario, driving any distance for dinner, groceries etc... is the norm, so we planned for supply pick-up in conjunction with our outings and did not find the private cove in any way isolated. Secluded and private yes, but not isolated with Charlottetown and Summerside less than one hour away. All our inquiries were handled in a very timely manner by Alan and Sue Manning and questions while we were at the house usually answered within the hour. The welcome package that was mailed prior to the visit was also very helpful in planning our trip to PEI and the gift of PEI jams and tea upon our arrival was a very nice touch. Do not hesitate to rent this historic home if you have a group from 6-10 as the ocean view, spaciousness, surroundings and appointments of this house cannot be overstated. Five star all the way"

  • A real Gem!

"This house is amazing! The photos don't do it justice! We had 12 people in our group and there was more than enough room for everyone to feel like they had their own space. It is in a fabulous location - a beautiful country retreat minutes away from one of the most beautiful beaches on the East coast! We made great use of the free Provincial park pass that Debbie and Garner provided and could drive to Cavendish beach in 5 minutes. The house is also very close to a cute little town called North Rustico. It has a great playground for small children, yummy bakery, fresh seafood and deep sea fishing trips, coffee shop, grocery store and another nice beach (quieter than Cavendish). The house itself is super clean, is equipped with everything you would ever need (the laundry is a huge plus!) and so many activities for kids and adults. We were particularly impressed with the huge selection of board games for kids. The adults in our group loved relaxing in the hot tub under the stars. Debbie and Garner responded quickly to all our questions and were so warm and welcoming. We had such a positive experience and would highly recommend this home! It truly did feel like a 'home away from home'. Thank you Debbie and Garner!!"
