  • Beautiful Cozy House in Knowlton

"Lovely, cozy house to stay in and explore beautiful Knowlton! Walking distance to the village, full kitchen to do your own cooking, a great restaurant right next door! Close to ski hills, Spas, Antique stores & more. We felt right at home in Le Chien Noir as 2 couples away for a weekend. We'll be back! Thanks to our gracious host!"

  • Roomy 2-Level Condo in Heart of Old Quebec

"We had a pleasant stay in this condo in mid October. The condo's best features are LOCATION (heart of Old Quebec near Rue Ste.-Jean), SPACE (eat-in-kitchen, two bedrooms plus living room with sleeper sofa), and LAUNDRY facilities. Also, we must mention the friendly OWNERS as a plus. The condo was never too hot nor too cold during our stay. Public parking is a short walk away. The hot tub functioned while we were there and we used it, but it was more on the very warm side rather than hot (96 degrees.) The kitchen has all the dishes, utensils, and tools that you will need during your stay. The negatives of the condo are the uneven floors and stairs. Yes, they are to be expected in an old building, but the stairs are very slanted to one side and the floor between the living room and kitchen has a step of about 1 1/2 to 2 inches so take your balance and mobility into consideration when deciding whether to rent the condo. We ourselves tripped on the step several times and my son fell part way down the stairs but was OK. Parking was listed as an amenity so I had thought it was included. It turns out that public parking is a short distance away, but no parking was included with the rental. It ended up being difficult to find someone to help us buy a parking pass so we had the additional expense of daily parking. There is a also a lot of dust from the mortar between the stone walls. I know that the apartment was dusted before we arrived, but by the time we left 3 days later there was significant dust. Another negative is that the massive bookcase on the left of the fireplace is secured by a single screw that is coming out. Because the bookcase is so heavy and tall but not deep, I was constantly worried that my youngest would try to climb it and it would fall on him. I mentioned the issue to one of the owners and she said that they might secure the bookcase. Another much more minor issue (for us) was the presence of many almonds on the floor in the living room which told me that that room had not been given a proper cleaning before our arrival. We are not allergic so it wasn't a big concern, but when you pay an $80 cleaning fee, I think it's reasonable to expect that the last renters also paid the fee and so the apt should be free of snacks on the floor. I mentioned the nuts to the owner after our departure. The cupboards had salt, pepper, tea and sugar. Bring your own shampoo."

  • Great condo in a beautiful setting

"The condo is beautiful; the pictures hardly do it justice. All the peace and quiet of the golf course and the surrounding area, yet a short drive away from the Tremblant village amongst other places. The place is clean and there is ample space for everyone. Con: Despite putting the A/C unit on and closing the blinds during the day, it can get very hot inside the condo during the summer."

  • Perfect Getaway.

"We spent a week at this lovely home. Having lived in Lachine for many years this was a perfect place to to reminisce and introduce my husband to the area I grew up in. The pictures of this place do not do it justice, from the amazing kitchen with the beautiful Italian gas stove, the dining room with the perfect table for entertaining, the huge bathroom with heated floors and the very comfortable bed in the master bedroom,, you will feel totally at home during your stay. Our old dog loved the space and his walks in the neighbourhood. There is an amazing farmer's market across the street with lovely fresh produce and just down the street a great bakery from which we bought fresh croissants every morning. The best we've had since visiting Paris. The Lachine Canal is a few minutes down the street, perfect for long walks each day. The bus service will get you downtown in 30 minutes so need to drive. Or you can cycle the bike trails along the canal all the way to old Montreal. We would highly recommend this rental. Thanks to Martin for greeting us on our arrival."
