  • A real treat!

"We are just back for a wonderful week at the cottage. What a treat! The cottage was very clean when we arrived and is very well furnished. The kitchen was well stocked and our daughter enjoyed the bunk bed! The outdoor patio brings you to a second, secluded level and then onto the dock that faces perhaps the most beautiful lake you can find. The water is very clear and clean and we enjoyed swimming in it, fishing and exploring it by canoe and motorboat. As mentioned by another reviewer, the photos do not do justice to the beauty of the lake. We were completely seduced by it. We stayed a week there with our 6 yo and had a wonderful, fun and relaxing time. My daughter caught her first fish, we swam in the lake everyday, explored the many bays of the lake by canoe. Cathy (and members of her family) were very responsive to our little enquiries. We felt very welcome and we really hope to rent this cottage again in the future. I highly recommend it!"

  • Nice condo close to all attractions

"We enjoyed the condo very much. The condo had all we (4 adults) needed and is close to the skiing area and a nice supermarket (Metro). What else does a family need."

  • Great apartment and family friendly, very French, cultural neighborhood

"We definitely echo what other reviews have shared -- this is a great apartment and location in the Mont-Royal section of Montreal. The apartment was surprisingly quiet - the neighborhood has many families, babies and pets; yet we never heard anyone at all -- that is unless we were sitting on the deck enjoying a coffee or glass of wine :-) . The owner was very responsive. We were not familiar with this part of Montreal so here are some of our discoveries. The Metro (Laurier station) is about a 12 minute walk just past the park. If you go 3 stations up to Jean-Talon you will find what is perhaps the best market ever, where you will find all sorts of freshest of fresh produce, seafood, locally made cheese -- if you like oysters definitely sit at the small counter near the outside of the market and enjoy a great selection ($2 each or $20 for a dozen). Just down around the corner from the apartment is a really great local bistro - Les Entretiens - the food was excellent - menu is entirely in French but the waitress did her best to explain. You'll find the Metro supermarket along the way to the subway - it has a very broad selection of just about anything...the Quebec yogurt in Maple flavor was our daughter's favorite. There is a gelato shop on the main street as well that was packed with local families. You'll find a really good speciality gourmet - imports / coffee tea shop nearby -- if you are from the US the owner of 40 years will talk Montreal politics with you! (Hint he is not in favor with the current politician) Some tips for getting around -- if it works out buy a 3 day pass to the Metro -- this provides unlimited access during these days and can save some money versus fixed trips. The Montreal Fine Art museum is worth checking out - they had a great Faberge jewelry exhibit while we were there (easy walk from Guy Concordia station). The Montreal botanical garden (Pie IX station) is amazing - our 13 year old really enjoyed it. While parking is included with a spot in the back alleyway, we parked on the street. The apartment is a 3rd floor walk up - metal stairs on the exterior - then somewhat narrow staircase inside. We packed 2 smaller suitcases (pullmans) versus 1 larger and had no issues carrying these up. The rain shower is excellent. We did find that WIFI was inconsistent - it worked best on the kitchen bar area and the bedrooms. We had previously stayed at a hotel in Old Montreal and found staying here to be more enjoyable."

  • Family Renewal

"Our little oasis in the heart of the beautiful Laurentians became our family home as members arrived from France, Ontario, Quebec and Brazil. This home was clean, and well equipped. We created many meals together with a well supplied kitchen, learned how to canoe and enjoyed the family games room. Very relaxing and enjoyable. We had a perfect opportunity just to hang out and reconnect with our family in a most wonderful home. We had a super night of Astronomy along with Star and Planet gazing at the Observatory held on Saturday evening near Mont Tremblant."
