  • Cozy and Comfortable.

"The apartment is cozy and comfortable with lots of clever artistic touches. It is an older home that fits in with the other older homes in Lévis. The unit is on the second floor with a limited view of the St Lawrence River and Old Quebec. Everything worked well and there were lots of dishes, pans etc that allowed us to cook anything we wanted. The living room had lots of comfortable furniture and the beds were firm but not hard. The shower was a bit unusual- see the picture- but it worked well for the 2 of us, with plenty of hot water. The apartment is across from a small park overlooking the river and Old Quebec. The day we arrived we sat in the park and watched the Queen Mary 2 depart. Like many, many places in Quebec the apartment is on the second floor and you have to be prepared for steps. Celine and Pierre were the perfect hosts. Pierre took us around in his car to show us where everything was located in old Levis. They were there whenever we had questions but otherwise did not intrude on our privacy. Old Lévis was pleasant. There were some small restaurants nearby that were good and a decent grocery store a short drive away. Getting into Old Quebec was fairly easy. There is a stairway down to the ferry dock but it is-best quess- about 16 or 17 stories worth of steps back up. We parked at the bottom for $3 to avoid the walk back up. The ferry runs at least twice an hour into the early evening. The ferry docks in the old town quite close to the funicular. We actually took our car on the ferry to get to Ile de Orleans one day and it was quite easy."

  • great apartment in old town Montreal

"This apartment is beautiful, spacious and even though it is the basement of an historic building, the street windows are high enough to provide enough light. The furnishings are tasteful and comfortable..the bed mattress is exquisite (almost as good as at the Queen Elizabeth - and they are THE best). The owner is helpful in providing local information (shopping, SAQ locations, Metro). Our only concerns were: We were looking forward to some quiet nights in front of the fire but the gas pilot was out/notworking and the owner never fixed this even after we mentioned it the first day. Also the radiant heater in the living room didn't work even after having it reset. Since my partner has issues with the cold, this made the room uncomfortable for her to sit in. Lastly, this may seem minor but, one of the reasons we rent through VRBO is to be able to prepare our own meals as we enjoy cooking and experiencing short-term living in different cities. Though the kitchen was fairly well equipped, the knives were completely dull. A resharpening would be in order. These issues probably wouldn't bother most people staying here and they only had an impact on certain aspects of our stay. Overall, the experience of staying in this apartment was positive."

  • Perfect Pied-à-terre

"My husband and I love to visit Quebec City and have stayed in a variety of accommodations over the years. When we come for more than a night or two we prefer to have more space than a hotel room offers and also kitchen facilities. Apartment 204 in this condo building was perfect for our most recent 4-night stay during February. We found it to be as good or better than presented on-line, with everything in good working order. The renovation of this magnificent old building on rue Saint-Jean in the Upper Town of Vieux Quebec is sympathetic, keeping architectural details like the tall, arched windows while incorporating every modern comfort. The high ceilings and the split level design provide both a feeling of space and grandeur downstairs and coziness (in the bedroom) upstairs. Weather was quite cold during our stay, but it was easy to regulate the thermostats to our chosen temperatures. We enjoyed many of the amenities, from the music channels on the cable TV, the iPod dock, the deep soaking bathtub, the well-equipped kitchen, to the excellent bedding and furniture. This particular apartment includes a parking space in a heated garage about a 5-minute walk from the building--a rarity in Quebec. The building is very secure, with multiple coded and keyed entry points. The location is so central that we never moved our car until it was time to pack up again. Booking, reception and check-out were all handled smoothly, professionally and with amity. For a single or couple seeking a lovely, central business or leisure nest in Quebec City, without need for hotel services, I highly recommend this rental unit. My only caveat is to bring a sleep mask if you prefer total darkness at nigh. Although the bedroom has curtains for privacy and dims nicely, the upper loft remains open to the other windows and there is no way to block out street lights from the upper arches."

  • Beautiful, comfortable and great location - you won't regret it

"We got an almost immediate response after inquiring. From then, the owner, has been extremely helpful, accomodating and friendly. The first impression is WOW, the appartment is fully renovated, decorated with taste and well equipped. It has 2 spacious bedrooms, a nice kitchen, spacious living area and a huge balcony in the back. It's very clean and quiet. It is is well furnished and fresh towels and linens are provided. The location was perfect - within walking distance to a grocery stores, wine store, cafes, restaurants and the bike path/boardwalk along the St-Lawrence river. We enjoyed taking walks along there in the evening and the kids enjoyed running around and going to the numerous parks. Two bus stops on the corner and there is a bike (BIXI) location close by. It's only a 15-minute bus ride to the Old Montreal and downtown. The owner obviously takes great pride in making this apartment comfortable for guests. She was very helpful in answering questions and giving us tourist tips, you will find tons of brochures as well in the condo. We would certainly come back again. I highly recommend this condo and location. Free street parking is available (if you decide to take your car) and easy to find a spot."
