Overview of Mont Tremblant Area Vacation Rentals

Make Mont Tremblant Your Next Vacation

Situated in the heart of the Laurentian Mountain Range, Mont Tremblant is filled with breathtaking views and surrounded by a lush boreal forest. The mountain itself stands 2,871 feet. Translated from French, Mont Tremblant means “trembling mountain” and has become a popular vacation destination for both winter and summer getaways. The small village that shares its name with the mountain is quiet, charming, and completely inviting.

Understanding the Area

When planning your Mont Tremblant travel, it is helpful to understand a little bit about the area which is divided into two parts. The original village is now known simply as The Village. The second part is known as The Resort which lies at the foot of the mountain. The Resort is also referred to as Pedestrian Village by locals and regular visitors alike because vehicles are prohibited. A free gondola connects many of the hotels and Mont Tremblant vacation rentals to the ski lifts. Surrounding the resort area is Mont Tremblant National Park which is the biggest park of its kind in the region. It also happens to be the first national park ever to have been created in Quebec.

Getting to Mont Tremblant

When it comes to getting to Mont Tremblant, you have a few different options. If you choose to fly in, your best bet is going to be Mont Tremblant International Airport. The airport has seasonal direct flights to and from several major U.S. cities. Additionally, the nearest major airport is in Montreal. If you choose to drive in, Mont Tremblant is most easily reached via Autoroute 15 North from Montreal. When traveling from the west, it is possible to use smaller, more scenic roads but it can be a challenge in the winter.

Transportation in and Around Mont Tremblant

If you have chosen to rent your own Mont Tremblant ski condos rather than stay at a resort, you are going to need your own transportation to get around. To maintain your independence, you should plan to rent a car if you have not driven in. If you choose not to have a car, there are two intercity buses that provide service throughout Mont Tremblant. There is also a regional transit bus system for more local travels.

What to see in Mont Tremblant

If you are looking for historic sites in Mont Tremblant, you are out of luck. There is an iconic clock tower in the lower village but it is not really a historic site. However, what the village lacks in history it definitely makes up for in beauty. Not only are the buildings of the town charming but the natural serenity of Mont Tremblant is incomparable to any other location. The forests, lakes, and mountains provide an idyllic setting for any occasion, including but not limited to weddings, family vacations, and romantic getaways. If you really want to see some beauty, plan to spend some time on the rustic northern side of Mont Tremblant.

Things to do in Mont Tremblant

However, if you prefer the warmer weather, the summer can be just as much fun! The south side is ideal in the summer for bicycling, mountain biking, hiking, swimming, and bird-watching. There are also plenty of attractions around including golf courses, miniature golf, and waterparks.
