  • Roomy 2-Level Condo in Heart of Old Quebec

"We had a pleasant stay in this condo in mid October. The condo's best features are LOCATION (heart of Old Quebec near Rue Ste.-Jean), SPACE (eat-in-kitchen, two bedrooms plus living room with sleeper sofa), and LAUNDRY facilities. Also, we must mention the friendly OWNERS as a plus. The condo was never too hot nor too cold during our stay. Public parking is a short walk away. The hot tub functioned while we were there and we used it, but it was more on the very warm side rather than hot (96 degrees.) The kitchen has all the dishes, utensils, and tools that you will need during your stay. The negatives of the condo are the uneven floors and stairs. Yes, they are to be expected in an old building, but the stairs are very slanted to one side and the floor between the living room and kitchen has a step of about 1 1/2 to 2 inches so take your balance and mobility into consideration when deciding whether to rent the condo. We ourselves tripped on the step several times and my son fell part way down the stairs but was OK. Parking was listed as an amenity so I had thought it was included. It turns out that public parking is a short distance away, but no parking was included with the rental. It ended up being difficult to find someone to help us buy a parking pass so we had the additional expense of daily parking. There is a also a lot of dust from the mortar between the stone walls. I know that the apartment was dusted before we arrived, but by the time we left 3 days later there was significant dust. Another negative is that the massive bookcase on the left of the fireplace is secured by a single screw that is coming out. Because the bookcase is so heavy and tall but not deep, I was constantly worried that my youngest would try to climb it and it would fall on him. I mentioned the issue to one of the owners and she said that they might secure the bookcase. Another much more minor issue (for us) was the presence of many almonds on the floor in the living room which told me that that room had not been given a proper cleaning before our arrival. We are not allergic so it wasn't a big concern, but when you pay an $80 cleaning fee, I think it's reasonable to expect that the last renters also paid the fee and so the apt should be free of snacks on the floor. I mentioned the nuts to the owner after our departure. The cupboards had salt, pepper, tea and sugar. Bring your own shampoo."

  • Amazing stay at this condo

"We had a wonderful stay. We were 7 adults and 3 kids and the condo was big enough to house all of us. It is warm and cozy and has all the amenities you could ask for. The property is close to the village and the slopes, 5 min drive or if you are willing to walk would not take longer than 15 min to 20 min. Simply put...this place was amazing! George, one of the owners was also very helpful will all the detailed information he provided. We might come back in the summer or next winter."

  • Great experience!

"We stayed at Patrick's apartment for 10 days. It was great! He is an excellent host and does his best to make sure everything is in perfect order. The apartment is extremely well equipped including paper goods, olive oil, vinegar, spices, umbrellas, even a phone card for long distance calls. He has thought of everything. The location is excellent across the street from the beautiful Park La Fontaine, close to public transportation and a BIXI bike stand close by. There is also a wonderful manual outlining restaurants and other necessities nearby. Highly recommend! Enjoy!"

  • Wonderful week in Montreal

"My husband and I travelled to Montreal for a much-needed respite from our hectic lives. We saw the apartment and the welcome shrimp/sushi tray on VRBO and decided to give this place a try. The week was fabulous - beginning each day with a delicious breakfast left in the fridge by Michael was a daily treat and ending each day with a glass of wine or beer left by him was delightful. Michael drew all over the map things to see and do and we tried to take in everything. We became pros at riding the Metro (we found Papineau station to be most convenient) and aimed for one 'special' activity each day - like climbing Mont Roayale, going to the museum, walking to Atwater Market, etc. some may think that a week would be too long to stay in Montreal, but we found it perfect. Felt we really got to know the city. With the sumptuous breakfasts, we could usually hold out and skipped lunch, aiming for a nice dinner instead. Michael kept everything well stocked, clean, and even lent my husband his phone charger when we realized we forgot it. Highly recommended!"
