  • The perfect home away from home

"From the moment we walked into the Garden Suite at The Black House, it was obvious that this luxury apartment was special. To say that the suite has been built and decorated with an attention to detail, would be a serious understatement. Exposed beams, skylight, huge windows, and gorgeous wooden floors make the space cozy and bright. The kitchen has every gadget/tool you could ever want - all high end products too. The owners really thought of the details when finishing this house. The "new-school" radiators keep you warm in every area of the suite, and the warm lighting really makes the space glow at night. Both bathrooms are stunning. The decor of the suite really is breath taking. My wife and I were greeted by a lovely welcome on the chalkboard and a bottle of wine and card. The owner (James) and local host (April) and property manager (Paul) all went above and beyond to make our stay a special experience. We never wanted to leave."

  • Thanksgiving in Whistler

"We had a wonderful time with our family of 10 plus 3 dogs at Mike and Linda's Chalet White Wolf. This property is located just a short 1 mile north of the village so within 5 min drive or easy walking distance. When looking for a property to come north into BC to celebrate our US Thanksgiving we were concerned that we wouldn't find one that was large enough to fit the family but this property has 4 very nice bedrooms each on suite located on the ground floor and a large great-room on the upper floor with well equipped kitchen and a dinning room table large enough to fit the entire family. It also has a very comfortable living-room with a fireplace that felt really great as the temps got down to 7 degrees Fahrenheit brrrr. There is a large deck off the dinning room with a wonderful view of the mountains! Mike and Linda were very pleasant to work with and we would recommend this property and look forward to coming back again."

  • Fantastic Spot

"My daughter and I used the Yellow House as a base of operations for a week's mountain biking in the Okanagan. Some friends joined us for 3 nights. This is an excellent place to stay. The house is large and well cared for. Nicely equipped (and large) kitchen made cooking meals easy - and I particularly enjoy it when staples such as spices, salt and pepper and sauces have been allowed to accumulate so you're not running off to the grocery for all the little things you've forgotten. There's even a large BBQ on the deck, and they made sure to supply extra propane. The bedrooms are nice, and there's lots of linens as well as towels etc for the bathrooms, as well as soap for the washer and dryer. In the kitchen they supply ample coffee filters, garbage bags, dishwasher detergent etc. - again, no need to be running to the store. The double garage has lots of space for vehicles or storage of equipment like bikes. Particularly pleasant was the covered back deck (off the dining room). On the couple of mornings with some rain, it was nice to sit outside under cover with morning coffee, and it was always a pleasant place to sit during the day to watch the various types of birds congregate, and to listen to the crickets at night. The back yard is a graveled desert landscaping which made cleaning up after the dogs very easy. The house is a little bit south of Penticton on Skaha Lake, so its a very short drive to get to shopping, downtown and the highway. A very pleasant surprise was the Skaha Bluffs Park just to the south. This is a climbing area, but was also a lovely spot to give the dogs their walks. I look forward to getting back to explore the bike trails some more."
