  • Comfortable home in residential area

"The house was clean, well maintained, and in a quiet, residential area. Beds were comfortable with good mattresses and TV and Wifi worked well. A little colour could be added to the masculine decor in each room to improve its interior appeal, though the house is generally nicely decorated. Also, it would be helpful to have a 3-ring binder (as many other vacation rentals do) showing the location of nearby grocery stores and restaurants. We found a great little organic grocery store (Lifestyle Market) at 2950 Douglas St. (near Finlayson) open 7 days a week. Would definitely return to this charming 2-bedroom home and recommend it to others."

  • At the Ocean's Door

"I could not believe how exceptionally beautiful this home and location was. My family and I completely enjoyed the tranquility and comfort of this property. I don't think I have ever stayed at a place that was as near to perfect as this was. The owner's were very nice and very accommodating in helping our stay one of the best family vacations ever."

  • Wow! Wow!

"Booked thanksgiving here to meet my friends who lives at the other end of the island. This condo is absolutely gorgeous, beautifully decorated and attention to every detail including a fully stocked kitchen, reading literature you actually want to read, good quality towels, linens. View is a million dollars. With sleeping for 6 I expected the "hotel" standard of 6 cups, six plates, 6 forks....not so....Jackie provides everything you could need, in fact there was even a turkey roaster pan (although I had brought my own never expecting that) She called and made sure we got there ok and had no issues with the suite on the first night -- never had that happen before! The only thing I don't know if why the owners don't live here year round - trust me if you want a gorgeous place to vacation you do NOT need to go to Mexico. Thank you for a great holiday weekend."

  • Fantastic Spot

"My daughter and I used the Yellow House as a base of operations for a week's mountain biking in the Okanagan. Some friends joined us for 3 nights. This is an excellent place to stay. The house is large and well cared for. Nicely equipped (and large) kitchen made cooking meals easy - and I particularly enjoy it when staples such as spices, salt and pepper and sauces have been allowed to accumulate so you're not running off to the grocery for all the little things you've forgotten. There's even a large BBQ on the deck, and they made sure to supply extra propane. The bedrooms are nice, and there's lots of linens as well as towels etc for the bathrooms, as well as soap for the washer and dryer. In the kitchen they supply ample coffee filters, garbage bags, dishwasher detergent etc. - again, no need to be running to the store. The double garage has lots of space for vehicles or storage of equipment like bikes. Particularly pleasant was the covered back deck (off the dining room). On the couple of mornings with some rain, it was nice to sit outside under cover with morning coffee, and it was always a pleasant place to sit during the day to watch the various types of birds congregate, and to listen to the crickets at night. The back yard is a graveled desert landscaping which made cleaning up after the dogs very easy. The house is a little bit south of Penticton on Skaha Lake, so its a very short drive to get to shopping, downtown and the highway. A very pleasant surprise was the Skaha Bluffs Park just to the south. This is a climbing area, but was also a lovely spot to give the dogs their walks. I look forward to getting back to explore the bike trails some more."
