"Our trip to Anguilla was fantastic! This was our second time to visit Anguilla, but our first time to Bayberry/Chinaberry. We got to see old friends, visit our favorite establishments and try some new things, too. It was just as wonderful as we remembered.
Staying at "The Berries" was delightful. It was perfect for our group of 6 adults. The location is great. It felt private and secluded. Gayle was easy to work with and accommodating. The beds were comfortable, the kitchens were well-equipped, and there was plenty of living space for all! Plus, you can't beat the views on the patios, especially for having some sundownders! There was also a great music selection. Lyn took care of us wonderfully. She has such a sweet demeanor and personality. Our house was kept so neat and clean throughout our stay. We never wanted for anything, and she even managed to keep the floors free of sand.
If you stay, don't forget to fill up the bird bath and put out some sugar. The sugar-birds are quite fun to watch.
We will most certainly be back to Anguilla and would definitely love to stay here again."

"Just returned from Anguilla and the Clubhouse. I have been going to Anguilla since the 1980’s when I lived and worked in nearby St Maarten and can say the Clubhouse is a great value and lovely accommodation, particularly for Anguilla, as many comparable properties are priced well out of range. Others have already outlined many of the benefits of the property…I will simply say that these are accurate descriptions of the accommodation and experience, and I would recommend this property to everyone looking for great vacation experience on Anguilla.
However, I would like to make a few comments about the negative review above. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but I don’t think this should go unchallenged. I’ll cover the points below:
NO gas…I’ve been to this property more than once…always plenty of gas
Smell of gas was overwhelming…that has never been the case
The owner does not provide a fully stocked kitchen…untrue
There's no toaster…untrue
We were forced to continually find places to eat that served hot beverages and food…Funny, must have been a very difficult search. Anguilla is overflowing with fine places to eat.
Large aggressive maintenance man - renters should be put in such an uncomfortable threatening situation…that would be Trenton, and this comment is utter foolishness. Trenton could never be characterized in this way, and is 100% courteous and helpful 100% of the time. This comment feels somewhat racist to me.
Further, the DVD didn't work properly….untrue
And even though there are 2 bathrooms, both showers are pointless as only a trickle of water comes out…moderate stream, I’d say this comment is untrue
With only intermittent moments of warm water…untrue
Also the safe did not work…untrue
The walk to the beach takes around 3 minutes through a scruffy gravel and rock area strewn with leaves and debris, and then you need to be fit enough to jump down on to the sand…access to the beach is down the left side of the big villa (Bellamare) and through a gate, down a set of stairs leading directly to the beach. Virtually every part of this comment is untrue.
This property is in a bad location, not worth the price…untrue, Shoal Bay Village is one of the nicer island destinations and the accommodations provide more, not less, for the money.
Go to Anguilla, stay in the Clubhouse and enjoy your visit. Anguilla is one of the best destinations in the Caribbean and the perfect place to relax."

"We truly enjoyed our stay at Jems. It was very relaxing with an incredible view. The photos do not do the villa justice. You have to see it to believe it. The Villa is well maintained and provides a great place to come home to after a day at the beach. Every detail has been thought of and prepared for you. Including daily maid service. We booked this directly through Jill the owner and it was an incredible experience. She responded to every one of our questions quickly and thoroughly, gave us great recommendations on how to get to the Island for car rental, and what to expect. She was delightful to deal with. This is a great place to relax and enjoy the Island life. The pool is gorgeous and the grounds are well maintained. The amazing French bakery just down the road was a bonus. This is a great vacation villa with owners that take care to insure you have a great time.
We will certainly be back and without hesitation will stay at Jems."

"We recently spent a week at Moonrise Villa on peaceful Elsie bay in Anguilla. This tastefully designed and decorated villa with its understated elegance, stunning ocean views, private beach, impeccably decorated home, and spectacular site overlooking the sea affords its guests a little slice of paradise. The architecture of Moonrise Villa is designed to immerse you in the beauty of the natural setting while avoiding ostentation. We were struck by the way in which a minimalist modern design blended with traditional Anguillian forms. Artful touches of ornament, like the beautiful paintings by local artists, complement the clean lines of the interior. As we entered the Villa, a breath-taking vista onto the sea and the horizon beyond opened up before us. The floor-to-ceiling doors which open onto the spacious patio and pool area can be folded back completely so that the living space flows into the open air. Each master bedroom suite has windows that frame a view of the sea, a small patio and garden with lovely flowering plantings, and a private outdoor shower. It was heavenly awakening to the rising sun and sitting on the patio immediately outside the bedroom to catch a glimpse of the majestic great white heron who nests nearby and skims the sea for his morning meal.
The Villa takes full advantage of the natural environment by using shuttered windows and doors strategically placed to maximize cross-ventilation so the prevailing winds keep the inside cool and comfortable. We never had to use the air conditioning, and we could regulate the shutters to allow as much natural light in as we needed during the day. We were pleased that we could minimize our carbon footprint because of these sustainable design features.
The patio and pool area are spacious, and the covered dining area allowed for outdoor meals, rain or shine. Though the pool is lovely and the small private beach is a short walk or swim away, we couldn’t resist the allure of the many beaches that are just a short drive from the Villa. We went to a different beach every day, each one more beautiful than the last, and there are many others close by that we will definitely try next time we stay at Moonrise Villa. We could not have been more thrilled with our stay at this tastefully appointed home, set respectfully in its stunning natural environment. The week flew by, and we can’t wait to return to Moonrise Villa so we can luxuriate once again in this little slice of paradise."
