"If you are looking for a quiet place that is nice and right on the water with stunning views of French St. Martin, you are looking at the right place. We stayed a week with 2 small kids. The setup was perfect for them. My oldest would stay in the pool all morning and then we would go around the island to various beaches in the afternoon. There was always a good breeze blowing (tradewinds) and it was about as relaxing and quiet of a destination as you could hope for. It's about 10-minutes to The Valley from Palm Shores Villa, so you are close to restaurants and stores. There are none near the villa, which is a great thing for that secluded feeling. The West End beaches are 15-25 mins away, depending on how far you want to go. You will want a car. By the time you pay for taxis, you could have rented a car. Please keep this in mind for this location. The owner and the on-island property management are outstanding to work with. For what you are getting, this is by far the best value on the island and will be the very first place I look when I go back to Anguilla."Guest: bjc123 Date of Stay: May 2014 Review Submitted: June 13, 2014View listing
"I have never felt so relaxed and renewed from a vacation before. After 10 days in Anguilla at this beautiful house, I feel like a new me! Waking up to the sounds of birds tweeting and the soft roar of the ocean waves is absolutely ideal. The house was beautifully decorated and well-kept. The patio furniture was very comfortable for lounging on all day long. The pool was clean and lovely for an afternoon swim. I felt at home right away. It's a perfect romantic getaway or a great place to bring friends for a weekend of fun in the sun."Guest: Virginia Date of Stay: January 2014 Review Submitted: February 12, 2014View listing
"Absolutely perfect! This place was better than we had imagined. The pictures do not do it justice. We had never been to Anguilla before and peritwinkle was the perfect base to enjoy and learn the island. It is very easy to get to. Every morning we sat on the rooftop deck and watched the sunrise - magnificent. The pool is right outside the front door along with a nice little reading room. Peritwinkle is very nicely equipped. There was everything we needed in the kitchen. Only the bedrooms are air conditioned but it wasn't a problem as the breezes coming through kept it quite comfortable. The bedrooms are large and the showers are awesome! ( there is even an outdoor shower) Sandra was there to clean up and wash and dry the linens. She was so nice. We would watch tv at night or just read. Peritwinkle is about a 5 minute walk to one of the prettiest beaches I've seen We were able to go scuba diving ,something I thoroughly enjoyed. We plan to return soon. Great place!!!"Guest: Tweet Date of Stay: May 2014 Review Submitted: June 17, 2014View listing
"This was my family's first trip to Anguilla. I was excited but a bit nervous about selecting a property so far away and the process of wiring payment to this little island of Anguilla. Chelle and I talked several times by phone and she helped us with details around the rental car and ferry arrangements. Upon arrival at the property, 2 housekeepers greeted us and gave us a tour of the home. It is stunningly clean with high ceilings and is well appointed! We used the 3 bedrooms in the main house only. The home is spacious with large shutter doors to the patio and pool area. These doors are in each room which faces the water. We kept the doors open from sunrise until it was time to lock up for the night. The covered outdoor area, the pool, and the beach are where we spent almost our entire time while on the property. My 3 daughters and wife took turns on the bamboo swinging bed. So quiet and peaceful... just what they needed and it was always in use with them. There was a slight breeze on this side of the island the entire week which kept any bugs at a minimum. The hot tub took awhile to warm up when we used it each night. It was a great place to relax and talk after the sun had set. And, the views of St Maartin are spectacular at night. There are small shells and fish in the water right off the beach. The small beach in front of the property can only be accessed by 2 or 3 houses. We were there in "high" season and never saw another person ... it was our private paradise. Wade out to the rocky island to look for larger shells that have washed up but wear water shoes as there are some sea urchins. The housekeepers were there each day except Sunday. They were non intrusive and very helpful. They did dishes, made beds, kept everything clean and even washed and hung up some clothes. There were so many nice touches which I've never had at another property. In addition to the services of the housekeepers for the week, there was a cell phone for our use on the island and a Vonage phone for calls back to the US. The local island population is very friendly. We were greeted with hugs at the church we attended. People were genuinely friendly throughout the island. We've stayed in properties in Sanibel, Naples, Captiva, St John VI, and Playa del Carmen. This was my family's favorite home and vacation. Thank you Chelle for renting such a lovely home!"Guest: Tim M. Date of Stay: March 2014 Review Submitted: April 4, 2014View listing
