  • Heavenly!

"Our family loved the many amenities that came with this home, which included a well equipped kitchen, grill, snorkel gear, beach cooler and chairs. Of course the deck and spectacular views were an added bonus in the early morning and after a day on the many beautiful beaches. Communicating with Paul and Fran was swift and helpful. We took advantage of their suggestions and found them spot on. We would highly recommend this place. It was perfect for our family and we hated leaving this jewel of a home. Thank you for sharing it. • Everything they said it was!

"Location was awesome, we were able to walk across the street and be at Rum Pointe Beach in less than 5 Minutes! Snorkeling at the right of the pier was nice. Sting Ray City tour by Red Sail (located at Rum Point Beach) is a must do! The gear from Nigel was better than that we used on our trip to Stingray City. We rode bikes around the neighborhood, to Kaibo bar and to Star Fish Beach. Kayaked in the cove in the morning and again at night! Bioluminescent was really cool, you will need to find the darkest areas in the cove to get the best effect! You can place your hand underwater and shake it vigorously and watch the sparkles. The kayaking is so relaxing, we even took drinks with us and made it a nightly ritual. It was suggested we rent a car, so we did. It allowed us to sample the restaurants on the north and east end. Over The Edge restaurant at sunset is really nice, Tukka at moonrise would be great, Lighthouse for Sunday brunch was excellent, to name a few! Our top choice was the Kaibo Yacht Club, the Almond Shrimp crusted Grouper (recommended by locals) made my top five meals of all time! ( yeh, it's that good) I think they are only open Thurs. thru Sunday nights, so don't miss this if you are a true foodie! The pizza at Kaibo Beach Bar is really good also, prepared in a brick oven right near the beach, great lunch spot. This was our first time on Grand Cayman, it won't be our last. We liked the laid back atmosphere of the Rum Point area. We did a day trip over to Seven Mile Beach area and did some shopping at Camana Bay. When we come back, we will stay at the same place! Mudslides and Piña Coladas from The Wreck Bar at Rum Point Beach can be addictive, enjoy. Great 30th anniversary trip, our plan is to next time bring family and friends to share all this with them."

  • A wonderful holiday

"We love The Exumas. The magnificent beaches, great food and friendly people make it a wonderful place to visit. Coconut Cottage is a beautiful home, equipped with everything you could possibly need. We enjoyed visiting a new beach everyday, shopping at the local shops including Smitty's and Prime Island Meats, lunch out at the many restaurants, Santana's, Tropical Breeze, Paradise Bay, Big D's, Splash, Chat n' Chill to name some. Most nights were spent on the spacious deck barbequing dinner and enjoying the sunsets. Norman and Julie ,as hosts, who live in The Cays with their family of dogs, were helpful and informative. The straw market and the old tree in the centre of town burnt to the ground while we were there but the community is already hard at work to replace it so it will soon rise again and we wish them well in their endeavors. Joanna was quick to respond to any questions prior to arrival and the booking was simple and uncomplicated. This is a home, not a vacation rental, and the clock in the kitchen says it all....".Bahamian Time".......Relax, Unwind and Enjoy. It was a pleasure to visit Coconut Cottage and this island and we thank Joanna and her family for allowing us to share their home.....we hope to return......"

  • Wonderful Vacation

"My family and I just returned home from a memorable vacation to Rincon! We took a chance on VRBO and were incredibly pleased with Casa Playa! We arrived at night in the rain only to be greeted by very hospitable downstair's neighbors and Sabrina, our property manager. They were enjoying the rain and some beverages on the porch while waiting on our arrival. Sabrina provided us with local information (restaurants, grocery stores, fishing and snorkeling information). What a way to begin a vacation with great neighbors and an invitation to share beverages with them! It really set the tone for a wonderful stay. From the beautiful sunsets to the snorkeling in front of the house, we could not have been more pleased. Am already planning for future vacations here. We took advantage of the local fruit stands (incredible avocados!), Steps Beach, the Lighthouse, local bars, and just relaxing at the house. We highly recommend Casa Playa and Rincon! Thanks to our neighbors for a wonderful greeting and a great night of cards/beverages, and thanks to Sabrina for an easy transition to Rincon."

Anguilla Travel Tips

Activities and Attractions at Anguilla Vacation Rentals

Anguilla is a tropical paradise located in the Caribbean. It is an island known for its beautiful beaches and calm turquoise waters. It’s a place where you can relax, and be as active or lazy as you choose. Many people visit simply to be able to enjoy the beautiful white beach sands, warm tropical sun and delicious rum cocktails. But if you’d like to be a little more active than that, there are plenty of great activities. The calm turquoise waters are ideal for swimming and snorkeling. You can visit the reefs and watch the many colorful tropical reef fish dart between the corals. For certified divers, you can explore the underwater wonders by signing up with one of the dive charters.

The national sport of Anguilla is sailing and when the weather is good, you’ll see all types and sizes of sailing craft out on the water. The winds provide ideal sailing conditions and regattas are often held throughout the year. Sea kayaking is a great way to explore the coastline. Protected by the barrier reefs, most of the coastline is relatively calm. If you enjoy deep sea fishing, you can go out beyond the reefs for a day of fishing. The experienced skippers will be able to take you to where the fish are biting.

No visit to Anguilla is complete without taking a boat cruise. You can choose from a slow and steady glass-bottomed boat to a luxurious high-speed cruiser. There are also several yachts available for day charters and cruises on the island. On land, you can enjoy a round of golf or many leisurely hours of walking. You could even explore the interior on horseback. Then there are also the vibrant restaurants, beach bars, shops and markets to keep you entertained.

Visitors to Anguilla Villas

Anguilla attracts visitors who love the sunshine and warm tropical weather. Many people visit the island from December to April to escape from the colder northern climates. It’s a little slice of tropical paradise that is an ideal sun vacation destination. Because of its natural beauty, it is a popular destination for honeymoons and weddings. There’s nothing quite as romantic as strolling along a beautiful beach at sunset and feeling the gentle ocean breeze in your hair. Yachtsmen can enjoy sailing in the bays with the consistently good winds. Scuba divers can enjoy the underwater reefs and magnificent marine life. Anyone who enjoys beach, sun and water sports will enjoy a stay on Anguilla.

Getting to Anguilla Resort Rentals

Most flights to Anguilla from the United States route via Puerto Rico. From there, there are several flights weekly that connect on to Anguilla. An alternative that is often cheaper and more convenient is to fly directly to the neighboring island of St. Maarten. From there, you can get a quick island hop across to Anguilla. From St. Maartten, it is a quick 20-minute ferry trip to get across to Anguilla. If traveling from Europe, there are several airlines that have direct flights into St. Maarten. You can, of course, also route via Puerto Rico if you choose.

Best Seasons to Travel to Caribbean Vacation Rentals in Anguilla

Anguilla enjoys a warm year-round tropical climate. While the sun may shine all year, the seasons are dictated mostly by the rainfall rather than by how hot it is. The most popular time of year to visit is during the cooler months which are from December to April. You’ll want to be cautious about traveling in May as there are frequently storms that blow through. The summer months of June to September are very hot and humid, and heavy rains generally occur in October.
