  • Nice, Quiet, and Clean!

"My husband and I really enjoyed our mini vacation here! While other wedding guests stayed in resorts on the other side of the island (approx 30 min drive from Cap Jaluca), we opted to stay in a more local setting- and we're glad we did! The apartment was very nice, Desmond and Tessa were very welcoming, and we were very close (short drive) to several gorgeous beaches, including Shoal Bay. We'd recommend this to anyone looking for an alternative to the resort accommodations."

"We loved Bellamare from the minute we stepped inside. Beautiful setting and the ocean view was spectacular. We enjoyed each and every day . Yvette and Trenton were most helpful. We would return in a heartbeat. Hoping this is sooner than later."

  • Absolutely Spectacular!

"We have just returned from a vacation an Moonraker that rates as the "trip of a lifetime." Four families (10 kids, 8 adults), 10 glorious days, and memories to last forever. As we planned this trip (for nearly a year) it became a joke amongst our group that everything sounded too good to be true. Paul and Linda were so helpful and generous. The staff of Island Dream was kind and responsive. The pictures were to die for. The plans fell together beautifully. We started to fear that when we showed up someone would say "just kidding" and we'd be left with a shack on the side of the road! Needless to say, that was not the case! Moonraker lived up to—even exceeded—every expectation. The house was every bit as beautiful as the photos. The view was beyond words. We estimated that we looked out on 220 degrees of ocean! The pool and patio area was something out of a 5-star resort. The service was impeccable. Danielle and Georgia were the most gracious hostesses! They even went so far as to call ahead to various beach locations to tell them we were coming... so chairs and umbrellas would be waiting for us on arrival! Each suite in the house was more beautiful than the next. Each beach on the island was more beautiful than the next. Each meal we ate was better than the last. (And we ended with a home-cooked dinner by Chef Tyrone, so that should tell you how he rates!) We had 18 people and never once felt a lack of space. The kitchen had everything we could possibly need (and several things we never figured out how to use!) The whole-house music system helped set the mood whether we wanted to have a dance party on the deck, a cannonball contest in the pool, or quietly star-gaze from the loungers while sipping rum punch. The kids enjoyed a number of evenings (after long days of swimming & snorkeling) watching videos in the movie room, or up in the game room playing chess! The adults could pick a different spot to read a book every day! Each day we ventured to a new secluded beach (even the most popular ones were secluded by our standards). The drives were anywhere from 10-25 minutes. Sometimes on main roads, sometimes on dirt roads! Supplies were easily acquired at the local Best Buy (grocery store) and Tropical Distributors (liquor store)—both five minutes down the road. Fishing, shelling and crabbing were just a few steps away. And the sunshine was abundant. We are counting the minutes until our return. Until then, we'll bask in the memories!"

  • Enchanting & Inviting

"We were so very pleased with LaVanda Cottage. It was unbelievably charming and more importantly, extremely well maintained and clean! Everything was in excellent condition. It is much larger than depicted and the wrap around porch was perfect. I was going to describe in detail what to expect, but the previous writer from New England said it perfectly! No need to reiterate. I will mention that this cottage is nestled in back of and to the side of Villa Bellamare and in front of Villa Mimosa. Because of the beautifully lush landscaped grounds, you have total privacy. The other two properties look beautiful as well. Each and every staff member, from Trenton, Charlene and lovely Yvette, were delightful. Of note, there is no sign to help you locate the cottage, but it is next door to Serenity cottages. We had stayed in the Roads Bay area for five days and then we moved to La Vanda. Our only mistake was not staying at La Vanda the entire time. This is the only island we have returned to more than once and we are already talking about returning as the people are so warm and inviting. This is not something you encounter in some of the other Caribbean Islands. Thank you Mary Ann for a memorable stay!"

Anguilla Travel Tips

Activities and Attractions at Anguilla Vacation Rentals

Anguilla is a tropical paradise located in the Caribbean. It is an island known for its beautiful beaches and calm turquoise waters. It’s a place where you can relax, and be as active or lazy as you choose. Many people visit simply to be able to enjoy the beautiful white beach sands, warm tropical sun and delicious rum cocktails. But if you’d like to be a little more active than that, there are plenty of great activities. The calm turquoise waters are ideal for swimming and snorkeling. You can visit the reefs and watch the many colorful tropical reef fish dart between the corals. For certified divers, you can explore the underwater wonders by signing up with one of the dive charters.

The national sport of Anguilla is sailing and when the weather is good, you’ll see all types and sizes of sailing craft out on the water. The winds provide ideal sailing conditions and regattas are often held throughout the year. Sea kayaking is a great way to explore the coastline. Protected by the barrier reefs, most of the coastline is relatively calm. If you enjoy deep sea fishing, you can go out beyond the reefs for a day of fishing. The experienced skippers will be able to take you to where the fish are biting.

No visit to Anguilla is complete without taking a boat cruise. You can choose from a slow and steady glass-bottomed boat to a luxurious high-speed cruiser. There are also several yachts available for day charters and cruises on the island. On land, you can enjoy a round of golf or many leisurely hours of walking. You could even explore the interior on horseback. Then there are also the vibrant restaurants, beach bars, shops and markets to keep you entertained.

Visitors to Anguilla Villas

Anguilla attracts visitors who love the sunshine and warm tropical weather. Many people visit the island from December to April to escape from the colder northern climates. It’s a little slice of tropical paradise that is an ideal sun vacation destination. Because of its natural beauty, it is a popular destination for honeymoons and weddings. There’s nothing quite as romantic as strolling along a beautiful beach at sunset and feeling the gentle ocean breeze in your hair. Yachtsmen can enjoy sailing in the bays with the consistently good winds. Scuba divers can enjoy the underwater reefs and magnificent marine life. Anyone who enjoys beach, sun and water sports will enjoy a stay on Anguilla.

Getting to Anguilla Resort Rentals

Most flights to Anguilla from the United States route via Puerto Rico. From there, there are several flights weekly that connect on to Anguilla. An alternative that is often cheaper and more convenient is to fly directly to the neighboring island of St. Maarten. From there, you can get a quick island hop across to Anguilla. From St. Maartten, it is a quick 20-minute ferry trip to get across to Anguilla. If traveling from Europe, there are several airlines that have direct flights into St. Maarten. You can, of course, also route via Puerto Rico if you choose.

Best Seasons to Travel to Caribbean Vacation Rentals in Anguilla

Anguilla enjoys a warm year-round tropical climate. While the sun may shine all year, the seasons are dictated mostly by the rainfall rather than by how hot it is. The most popular time of year to visit is during the cooler months which are from December to April. You’ll want to be cautious about traveling in May as there are frequently storms that blow through. The summer months of June to September are very hot and humid, and heavy rains generally occur in October.
