"Paula nd Brad, Thank you so much for all your help with the trip! You are the greatest people and easy to work with for renting a house in San Pedro. All your advice made the trip even better!! We absolutely loved your wonderful home, Casa Amarillo in San Pedro. Our family of 4 had plenty of room and the pool and dock were amazing. The trip went so smooth and we were picked up at water taxi dock by your staff and they already had our golf cart waiting in parking lot! On way home, we took Tropic Air and it was so easy and a beautiful scenic trip from the air. (Even with our entire luggage…LOL) My husband now considers himself a fisherman. He was at the dock first thing every morning and even had Lone Star Grill cook his fish for him!! (Great restaurant near the house) We were able to go right from the dock on a snorkeling tour and saw incredible fish, sharks and sea rays in Shark Alley. It was so close to the house and made it a breeze to go on tours from the dock. Loved that the house was south of bridge! The golf cart rides were great adventures and still miss going around town and seeing all the sights. So Much to do in San Pedro and many places to visit!! I snorkeled every day from the dock and relaxed and read my book. VERY relaxing and perfect house for family of 4 and we only used the bottom half of the house. The best food was made by Marfa!! We had Marfa fix us lobster dinner one night and her lobster fritters were amazing (calamari too)!! She fixed our meals at least 3 times and wished I had done it more! We loved going in town on the golf cart and even went to the Palapa Bar north of the bridge and had the best time drinking in the water with a bunch of great friends we met while we were there. Cruz was awesome and played volleyball with the boys and also prepared our fire so we were able to cook s'mores and stare at the beautiful stars by the ocean! It was our favorite vacation by far and the house made it the best! I looked at other houses in San Pedro and still love Casa Amarillo the best as the ac worked great and pool, dock and bar was awesome! House was always kept up and we only wish we could have stayed another week! I will call you soon as need to book for next year! PS: Even "Cookie", the best watch-dog ever, made us feel welcome!! Thanks for everything!! The Boggess Family Southlake TX"Guest: The Boggess Family Date of Stay: July 2014 Review Submitted: August 29, 2014View listing
"The views are incredible! We spent a lot of time on the deck overlooking Coral Bay. It is a darling, charming cottage for two. We ate a lot of our meals in the well equipped kitchen and just enjoyed all that the cottage had to offer. We loved the food at Lucy's, Tourist Trap and our favorite beach was Salt Pond. Crabby's right down at the end of the road rented snorkeling equipment at a reasonable cost and Coral Bay was beautiful! Annie and Kaaren took very good care of us. We would return without hesitation. We loved it!"Guest: Sharon A. Date of Stay: February 2014 Review Submitted: April 7, 2014View listing
"I work with words for a living, and still I've been staring blankly at this review screen every time I open my computer for the last 3 weeks since we returned from Vieques, just trying to imagine what I could possibly say that a) hasn't been said very eloquently already or b) is not beyond words. The arrival, the jungle, the roads, the people, the sunset, the sunrise, the flora, the fauna, the beaches, the water, the house, the view, the pool, the yard -- the smallest details and the grandest abstractions (the space, the time, the feel) both seem inadequate. Truly, genuinely, I just hope you can give yourself or someone else the gift of living at La Escapada, if only for a moment. You'll be left with the greatest thing to say, simply: Thanks."Guest: jesse Date of Stay: December 2014 Review Submitted: January 6, 2015View listing
"This was a lovely house with a wall of patio doors providing a stunning view. The listing description is accurate and the photos simply don't do justice to the beauty of the overall location - the wrap-around porch and panoramic view was breathtaking. The property was clean and well-maintained. All appliances were quite new and worked well. The road is paved all the way to the house. The outdoor shower was also a very nice touch. We travelled with our two children - 6 and a half and 9 - and found the place to be suitable for children, with plenty of spots to safely introduce them to the ocean. The beach out front had everything: swimming, nice pink sand, waves (sometimes), fantastic snorkeling, lots of wildlife - the kids loved it. The property is very conveniently located and we were able to visit both the north and south of the island with ease. There were dozens of beaches on both the Atlantic and Caribbean and restaurants within 20min. drive. Our kid-friendly favorites were Airport Beach (by the house), Alabaster Beach, Twin Sisters Beach, Gaulding Cay. Nearby towns include Governor's Harbour, James Cistern, Alicetown, Rainbow Bay, Gregorytown - all were very friendly and safe. We would gladly recommend Bonefish Barbi's to anyone except people with serious mobility issues - there is a set of 30 or so steps down to the beach immediately off the back of the house - and it exceeded our expectations. The owner was extremely helpful and responsive, and the welcome package was jammed full of useful and detailed information that we used extensively during our stay."Guest: Don Q. Anguilla Travel Tips
Activities and Attractions at Anguilla Vacation Rentals
Anguilla is a tropical paradise located in the Caribbean. It is an island known for its beautiful beaches and calm turquoise waters. It’s a place where you can relax, and be as active or lazy as you choose. Many people visit simply to be able to enjoy the beautiful white beach sands, warm tropical sun and delicious rum cocktails. But if you’d like to be a little more active than that, there are plenty of great activities. The calm turquoise waters are ideal for swimming and snorkeling. You can visit the reefs and watch the many colorful tropical reef fish dart between the corals. For certified divers, you can explore the underwater wonders by signing up with one of the dive charters.
The national sport of Anguilla is sailing and when the weather is good, you’ll see all types and sizes of sailing craft out on the water. The winds provide ideal sailing conditions and regattas are often held throughout the year. Sea kayaking is a great way to explore the coastline. Protected by the barrier reefs, most of the coastline is relatively calm. If you enjoy deep sea fishing, you can go out beyond the reefs for a day of fishing. The experienced skippers will be able to take you to where the fish are biting.
No visit to Anguilla is complete without taking a boat cruise. You can choose from a slow and steady glass-bottomed boat to a luxurious high-speed cruiser. There are also several yachts available for day charters and cruises on the island. On land, you can enjoy a round of golf or many leisurely hours of walking. You could even explore the interior on horseback. Then there are also the vibrant restaurants, beach bars, shops and markets to keep you entertained.
Visitors to Anguilla Villas
Anguilla attracts visitors who love the sunshine and warm tropical weather. Many people visit the island from December to April to escape from the colder northern climates. It’s a little slice of tropical paradise that is an ideal sun vacation destination. Because of its natural beauty, it is a popular destination for honeymoons and weddings. There’s nothing quite as romantic as strolling along a beautiful beach at sunset and feeling the gentle ocean breeze in your hair. Yachtsmen can enjoy sailing in the bays with the consistently good winds. Scuba divers can enjoy the underwater reefs and magnificent marine life. Anyone who enjoys beach, sun and water sports will enjoy a stay on Anguilla.
Getting to Anguilla Resort Rentals
Most flights to Anguilla from the United States route via Puerto Rico. From there, there are several flights weekly that connect on to Anguilla. An alternative that is often cheaper and more convenient is to fly directly to the neighboring island of St. Maarten. From there, you can get a quick island hop across to Anguilla. From St. Maartten, it is a quick 20-minute ferry trip to get across to Anguilla. If traveling from Europe, there are several airlines that have direct flights into St. Maarten. You can, of course, also route via Puerto Rico if you choose.
Best Seasons to Travel to Caribbean Vacation Rentals in Anguilla
Anguilla enjoys a warm year-round tropical climate. While the sun may shine all year, the seasons are dictated mostly by the rainfall rather than by how hot it is. The most popular time of year to visit is during the cooler months which are from December to April. You’ll want to be cautious about traveling in May as there are frequently storms that blow through. The summer months of June to September are very hot and humid, and heavy rains generally occur in October.
