"My wife and I spent a week at K's Kove in early November 2014. It was our first trip to the island. We arrived after dark and were cordially greeted by Edward and Gratel. They are as nice a couple as you could ever hope to meet. Just absolutely sweet people. They are fantastically accommodating, and I never felt as though I was encroaching, nor they with me (and honestly, when you are staying on someone's property, that's something that tends to cross my mind). They're available when you need them, and extremely thoughtful. They left us some beach chairs to use for the week. Good ones, too, much better than anything you'd rent on the beaches. Raul, their son, who handles the logistics, is equally professional, prompt, and accommodating. Your pre- trip email correspondence will go through him. We rented the medium suite. Tons of space for two people. It has a full kitchen, and good sized living room, and balcony overlooking Island Harbour, and a large bedroom. The bed is very comfortable. It's really easy to make the space your home. The listed pictures are a good representation except the ceilings are extremely high, so everything feels even bigger. Island Harbour has several great restaurants. On De Rocks is a two minute walk. Hibernia is almost as close, in the other direction. We loved both, On De Rocks is more casual, Hibernia is fancier. There are several other dinner options within a close proximity. Le Bon Pain is nearby, and offers good breakfast options. Obviously, we came to Anguilla for the beaches, and K's Kove is roughly 7 minutes from Shoal Bay East. One of Planet Earth's very finest convergences of sand and sea. The beach is incredibly soft, the turquoise water warm and inviting, and it has a number of beach bars and restaurants. It's the total package. You'll need to rent a car, which you'd want to do regardless of where you stay on the Island. We also loved Rendezvous Bay on the opposite side of the island. There are 30-some beaches here, so you'll likely run out of time before you run out of stretches of sand to explore. But if you never get further than Shoal, I would understand. We loved our time here and were genuinely sad to leave. It's probably one of the best lodging deals we've ever come across. A week's stay cost less than a single night on many other Anguillan vacation rentals. Also, inquire about Lime Kove, right on the water, in front. Gratel gave us a tour. It's stunning."Guest: Ryan Date of Stay: November 2014 Review Submitted: November 22, 2014View listing
"I would definitely recommend staying at this villa. It was luxurious and had the perfect setting. Everything you may wish for is waiting for you on the property. The villa was exactly as the listing described and the owners were very easy to work with. The property is well maintained and the villa is very clean. The villa's proximity to Shoal Bay is very convenient."Guest: Susan L. Date of Stay: April 2014 Review Submitted: July 28, 2014View listing
"We rented Bayberry and Chinaberry for a "girls only" week to celebrate my Mom's 88th birthday...there is only one word to describe the charm, the detail to comfort, the perfect Caribbean meets Zen vibe of this property: REMARKABLE. The immaculate homes have every amenity as well as features I appreciate in a rental -such as quiet ceiling fans, mosquito nets, beyond fully equipt kitchen, multiple options for lounging and catching the sun or shade, thick bath towels, high quality bedding and bath supplies,WIFI/phone, great water pressure, truly inviting stylish and comfortable furniture, beach chairs, even a fully stocked refridgerator (option) & a bottle of local rum to welcome us! Perfect for families or couples, the landscaped courtyard and the decks double the living space and become magically lit at night. No need to go out to expensive restaurants at night...watching the sunset and enjoying the breeze....walled and raised to look over the bay, the property is supremely quiet.(except or the evening tree frogs) and feels very private and safe. Gayle arranged a car rental for us and provided tons of good island info such as the bakery (Gerauds) for the birthday cake. Lynn is a gem. Anguilla has miles of uncrowded soft white sand and the seas are every shade blue and aqua. The beach bars are fun for lunch. Seeing Bankie Banx in concert at the Dune Preserve, a treat. Take a catamaran to Prickly Pear. Eat at Tastys. While this property is not directly on a beach, we didn't mind a bit..the bay view is expansive and we explored different beaches by car, none more than 20-30 minutes away. Rendevous Bay, our favorite beach is very close by, although walking to it along the shore from the house is challenging due to erosion. Do not hesitate to book either Bayberry or Chinaberry or both..the property and Gayle's and Lynn's warmth added immeasurably to our Anguilla experience. From Day 1, it felt like home."Guest: beachcomin' Date of Stay: April 2014 Review Submitted: May 9, 2014View listing
"My husband and I spent two weeks at this beautiful villa in November and we absolutely loved the property. It is located on the East end which is our favorite part of the island but you are never far away from anything on Anguilla. We were within walking distance of a great pastry shop and a few minutes drive from Shoal Bay East. It was fabulous having the pool for those days when you just wanted to stay close to "home". It was more space then we needed for the two of us as the house is very spacious with three bedrooms and baths on the ground floor as well as a sitting room and small kitchen. The upstairs is one open area including kitchen, dining and living area. Just to reassure anyone who had concerns as I did, you do not need a/c upstairs. If you open the beautiful balcony doors on all sides the breezes are incredible. Balconies exist on all four sides upstairs and three of them provide ocean views. The kitchen is fully stocked and the owner was nice enough to provide a few staples for when we arrived. Having the laundry room and clothes line was a great feature, stay for two weeks, pack for one. This property is in a residential area but you feel very safe and the grounds keeper for the property is only a few minutes drive away. When I couldn't find the iron, which was in a cupboard, the neighbour was nice enough to lend me hers. I have looked at most of the properties on Anguilla that are available for rent and this property provides fabulous features for the price asked."Guest: Budsybaby Date of Stay: November 2014 Review Submitted: January 8, 2015View listing
Anguilla Travel Tips
Activities and Attractions at Anguilla Vacation Rentals
Anguilla is a tropical paradise located in the Caribbean. It is an island known for its beautiful beaches and calm turquoise waters. It’s a place where you can relax, and be as active or lazy as you choose. Many people visit simply to be able to enjoy the beautiful white beach sands, warm tropical sun and delicious rum cocktails. But if you’d like to be a little more active than that, there are plenty of great activities. The calm turquoise waters are ideal for swimming and snorkeling. You can visit the reefs and watch the many colorful tropical reef fish dart between the corals. For certified divers, you can explore the underwater wonders by signing up with one of the dive charters.
The national sport of Anguilla is sailing and when the weather is good, you’ll see all types and sizes of sailing craft out on the water. The winds provide ideal sailing conditions and regattas are often held throughout the year. Sea kayaking is a great way to explore the coastline. Protected by the barrier reefs, most of the coastline is relatively calm. If you enjoy deep sea fishing, you can go out beyond the reefs for a day of fishing. The experienced skippers will be able to take you to where the fish are biting.
No visit to Anguilla is complete without taking a boat cruise. You can choose from a slow and steady glass-bottomed boat to a luxurious high-speed cruiser. There are also several yachts available for day charters and cruises on the island. On land, you can enjoy a round of golf or many leisurely hours of walking. You could even explore the interior on horseback. Then there are also the vibrant restaurants, beach bars, shops and markets to keep you entertained.

There’s nothing quite as romantic as strolling along a beautiful beach at sunset and feeling the gentle ocean breeze in your hair. Yachtsmen can enjoy sailing in the bays with the consistently good winds. Scuba divers can enjoy the underwater reefs and magnificent marine life. Anyone who enjoys beach, sun and water sports will enjoy a stay on Anguilla.
Getting to Anguilla Resort Rentals
Most flights to Anguilla from the United States route via Puerto Rico. From there, there are several flights weekly that connect on to Anguilla. An alternative that is often cheaper and more convenient is to fly directly to the neighboring island of St. Maarten. From there, you can get a quick island hop across to Anguilla. From St. Maartten, it is a quick 20-minute ferry trip to get across to Anguilla. If traveling from Europe, there are several airlines that have direct flights into St. Maarten. You can, of course, also route via Puerto Rico if you choose.
Best Seasons to Travel to Caribbean Vacation Rentals in Anguilla
Anguilla enjoys a warm year-round tropical climate. While the sun may shine all year, the seasons are dictated mostly by the rainfall rather than by how hot it is. The most popular time of year to visit is during the cooler months which are from December to April. You’ll want to be cautious about traveling in May as there are frequently storms that blow through. The summer months of June to September are very hot and humid, and heavy rains generally occur in October.
