  • Peaceful & Exceptional Vacation Experience

"This was my family's first trip to Anguilla. I was excited but a bit nervous about selecting a property so far away and the process of wiring payment to this little island of Anguilla. Chelle and I talked several times by phone and she helped us with details around the rental car and ferry arrangements. Upon arrival at the property, 2 housekeepers greeted us and gave us a tour of the home. It is stunningly clean with high ceilings and is well appointed! We used the 3 bedrooms in the main house only. The home is spacious with large shutter doors to the patio and pool area. These doors are in each room which faces the water. We kept the doors open from sunrise until it was time to lock up for the night. The covered outdoor area, the pool, and the beach are where we spent almost our entire time while on the property. My 3 daughters and wife took turns on the bamboo swinging bed. So quiet and peaceful... just what they needed and it was always in use with them. There was a slight breeze on this side of the island the entire week which kept any bugs at a minimum. The hot tub took awhile to warm up when we used it each night. It was a great place to relax and talk after the sun had set. And, the views of St Maartin are spectacular at night. There are small shells and fish in the water right off the beach. The small beach in front of the property can only be accessed by 2 or 3 houses. We were there in "high" season and never saw another person ... it was our private paradise. Wade out to the rocky island to look for larger shells that have washed up but wear water shoes as there are some sea urchins. The housekeepers were there each day except Sunday. They were non intrusive and very helpful. They did dishes, made beds, kept everything clean and even washed and hung up some clothes. There were so many nice touches which I've never had at another property. In addition to the services of the housekeepers for the week, there was a cell phone for our use on the island and a Vonage phone for calls back to the US. The local island population is very friendly. We were greeted with hugs at the church we attended. People were genuinely friendly throughout the island. We've stayed in properties in Sanibel, Naples, Captiva, St John VI, and Playa del Carmen. This was my family's favorite home and vacation. Thank you Chelle for renting such a lovely home!"

  • Paradise unmatched.

"We rented this condo in October of 2014, which is considered the off season for the Island. It was like having the whole Island to ourselves. The condo is wonderful with high foot 10+ ceilings. There are sliding doors out to a second floor lanai / porch. It was perfect for relaxing on the with stunning views of the ocean to the east, west and north. It had a huge living room and kitchen area. The condo upkeep is truly great. There is a small beach that is a 3 min walk towards the left where the local fishermen are coming and going all day with their fresh catches. We had night dinners on the lanai that overlooked the ocean in the evening that were perfect for listening to the ocean and watching the sun set to our left and the moon rising to our right. The "On Da Rocks" restaurant was a stones throw from us and the food was extremely tasty, as was the ribs created by Neddie down the street at a local spot named Pelican’s that looked like a beach shack. Don’t let the outside throw you off….. We felt like we were at home on the ocean! Be sure to rent a car, as there are great beaches all around the Island. The best was a 5 minute drive called Shoal Bay East. We had the absolute pleasure of meeting the owners Gratel and Edward while we were there, as they live right on site. They were the most amazing people that were so warm and welcoming. One afternoon they even cooked us a local feast. I had the rice & peas dish and fish for two days as there was so much made by Ms. Gratel. They were so helpful, and informative, which made getting ideas of what to do on the quiet Island a plus. They made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. All of our questions prior to going were handled by Raul, the owner’s son here in the States. He was patient with our many questions and responded daily. He, like his parents has a great sense of humor and will remind you he is the family favorite. Check with Gratel. It was clear all people are her favorites. The condo is more than we expected! Don't hesitate to rent this unit. We would definitely recommend this condo to our friends and hope to stay there again soon!"

  • D&D from Maryland

"We have been vacationing at Villa Serenata for the past five years and have only positive things to say! The house is well equipped and wonderful location for privacy, yet only a short drive to beach and restaurants. The best french bakery on the island is just a short walk down the hill. We just love relaxing on the outside veranda. The owners have become family to us....very gracious and caring! Thank you Madeline and Rocco for allowing us to stay at Villa Serenata. . . .a home away from home!"

  • Nice, Quiet, and Clean!

"My husband and I really enjoyed our mini vacation here! While other wedding guests stayed in resorts on the other side of the island (approx 30 min drive from Cap Jaluca), we opted to stay in a more local setting- and we're glad we did! The apartment was very nice, Desmond and Tessa were very welcoming, and we were very close (short drive) to several gorgeous beaches, including Shoal Bay. We'd recommend this to anyone looking for an alternative to the resort accommodations."

Anguilla Travel Tips

Activities and Attractions at Anguilla Vacation Rentals

Anguilla is a tropical paradise located in the Caribbean. It is an island known for its beautiful beaches and calm turquoise waters. It’s a place where you can relax, and be as active or lazy as you choose. Many people visit simply to be able to enjoy the beautiful white beach sands, warm tropical sun and delicious rum cocktails. But if you’d like to be a little more active than that, there are plenty of great activities. The calm turquoise waters are ideal for swimming and snorkeling. You can visit the reefs and watch the many colorful tropical reef fish dart between the corals. For certified divers, you can explore the underwater wonders by signing up with one of the dive charters.

The national sport of Anguilla is sailing and when the weather is good, you’ll see all types and sizes of sailing craft out on the water. The winds provide ideal sailing conditions and regattas are often held throughout the year. Sea kayaking is a great way to explore the coastline. Protected by the barrier reefs, most of the coastline is relatively calm. If you enjoy deep sea fishing, you can go out beyond the reefs for a day of fishing. The experienced skippers will be able to take you to where the fish are biting.

No visit to Anguilla is complete without taking a boat cruise. You can choose from a slow and steady glass-bottomed boat to a luxurious high-speed cruiser. There are also several yachts available for day charters and cruises on the island. On land, you can enjoy a round of golf or many leisurely hours of walking. You could even explore the interior on horseback. Then there are also the vibrant restaurants, beach bars, shops and markets to keep you entertained.

Visitors to Anguilla Villas

Anguilla attracts visitors who love the sunshine and warm tropical weather. Many people visit the island from December to April to escape from the colder northern climates. It’s a little slice of tropical paradise that is an ideal sun vacation destination. Because of its natural beauty, it is a popular destination for honeymoons and weddings. There’s nothing quite as romantic as strolling along a beautiful beach at sunset and feeling the gentle ocean breeze in your hair. Yachtsmen can enjoy sailing in the bays with the consistently good winds. Scuba divers can enjoy the underwater reefs and magnificent marine life. Anyone who enjoys beach, sun and water sports will enjoy a stay on Anguilla.

Getting to Anguilla Resort Rentals

Most flights to Anguilla from the United States route via Puerto Rico. From there, there are several flights weekly that connect on to Anguilla. An alternative that is often cheaper and more convenient is to fly directly to the neighboring island of St. Maarten. From there, you can get a quick island hop across to Anguilla. From St. Maartten, it is a quick 20-minute ferry trip to get across to Anguilla. If traveling from Europe, there are several airlines that have direct flights into St. Maarten. You can, of course, also route via Puerto Rico if you choose.

Best Seasons to Travel to Caribbean Vacation Rentals in Anguilla

Anguilla enjoys a warm year-round tropical climate. While the sun may shine all year, the seasons are dictated mostly by the rainfall rather than by how hot it is. The most popular time of year to visit is during the cooler months which are from December to April. You’ll want to be cautious about traveling in May as there are frequently storms that blow through. The summer months of June to September are very hot and humid, and heavy rains generally occur in October.
