  • Another great stay at Point of View!

"We are recently back from our second two week stay at Point of View. We first stayed at the property in 2012 and had been dreaming of a return trip ever since our plane left Antiguan soil on that trip. We are a family of 5 with 3 teenage daughters and are now very comfortable getting around the island. As with our first trip we couldn't have been happier with our stay. Katherine was (again) extremely helpful and always full of great information on the island. With our trip coinciding with Antigua Carnival there was a much larger number of tourists and activities available on the island during this trip (which was very nice). Beyond seeing the island many of our favorite days were spent sitting around Point of View and enjoying the villa. Some tips: -Be prepared to get a local drivers license (~$20usd) and a 4wd vehicle. You will quickly get used to driving on the left hand side of the road (if you don't already). A 4wd vehicle is extremely helpful on the island in general and especially to get up the mountain to Point of View. A good map or GPS makes your trip much less stressful. -If you travel to Antigua in the off-season (like we do) plan on arriving with an idea of the restaurants and other sites/activities you want to hit and make sure you call ahead to check to see if they are open. Many have off-season schedules. We did this and had a great experience. We actually liked many of their FB pages in the weeks leading up to our trip so we knew what events were going on and what specials the restaurants had. Some of our favorites: Touloulou's, Trappas, OJs, Copper and Lumber (Friday night seafood), and the always popular Sunday party at Shirley Heights. -Don't "overplan" in Antigua and be prepared to live on "island time" for awhile. Everything happens at a different pace there so go with it and make up some (or most) of your schedule as you go. You'll enjoy it more this way :) -Get out on the water. We love the beaches and have been to a bunch of them (Favorites: Rendezvous Bay, Halfmoon Bay, Valley Church, and Jolly Beach). We also loved taking a Catamaran out to Barbuda (BEAUTIFUL beaches and great trip). This year we chartered a sailboat for a day (the Jabberwocky through http://www.adventurecaribbean.com/) and HIGHLY recommend it. We can't recommend Point of View enough and we're already scouring our calendar for open dates for our next trip."

  • Amazing Villa

"My teenage children and myself just arrived home from Antigua. The Villa was filled with charm, wonderful amenities, an amazing view and a great beach. We spent some days on the beach at St. James Club and travelled to others on the Island, they were all beautiful. I highly recommend this Villa as you will feel like you are at home but in paradise."

  • A hidden treasure

"We recently spent 9-nights of our honeymoon staying at the delightful Bamboo Cottage. The cottage itself has been designed and decorated with the noticeable care and attention of a justifiably proud owner. The grounds in which the cottage is situated are beautifully maintained, with the impressive garden attracting a whole host of the local bird life. Indeed, it is difficult to think of many better ways to start a day than by enjoying the early morning sun on the front porch of Bamboo Cottage, before taking a dip in the immaculate pool. Last, but by no means least, the owner, Joanne, is a wonderful hostess with a wealth of knowledge about the island, its amenities and various attractions. During our stay, Joanne went out of her of way to inform and assist - seemingly nothing is too much trouble and Joanne has a wonderful knack of making you feel so very well cared for, whilst also allowing guests to enjoy the privacy and tranquility of the cottage. We left the island very much hoping to return one day soon to once again enjoy Bamboo Cottage and the superb hospitality of Joanne. Dave & Alexan"

  • Villa Kulala is paradise

"My family and I were recently in Antigua for a wedding and had the great forture of spending a week at Villa Kulala. As you can see from the pictures the panoramic views are amazing. The villa itself is balinese inspired and beautifully decorated. The staff were great and very helpful. The rooms are superb and open to the outside and all have their own en-suite bathrooms. The air-conditioned bed provided dreamy sleeps. Everything in Kulala is top notch. The best part of the process however was dealing with Amanda (the owner), we asked a lot of questions and she was very helpful and fantastic to deal with. While we were there we also rented the equally luxurious Villa Azura (Amanda's other property next door) and it worked out great if you have a large group. I would recommend Villa Kulala to anyone who wants to experience the caribbean at its most beautiful. Thanks Amanda for such an amazing vacation!"
