  • Great Location, Great Home

"Really enjoyed our stay at your home in Jolly Harbour. Upon our arrival we noted that it was clean and tidy. The home had all the necessities that we required. Wonderful view of the hills and the marina from the master bedroom. The Housekeeper was very pleasant and checked in on us to see if we needed anything. Great place to stay, will definately be staying here again on our next trip to Antigua. Would recommend a rental car or golf cart rental."

  • Perfect family vacation

"I would like to thanks Alan and his wife for sharing their home with us. The home is about 30 minutes from the airport. We rented a car from Dollar rent a car (great sevice and brand new suv) and it was very easy to drive on the island. There are multiple grocery stores on the way, we decided to stop at the Epicurian in St Johns. You will find everything you need at that store. There are also many banks with instant teller machines around that area. The drive to Antigua Highlands is very nice. Antiguans are very courteous on the road. as you arrive at the villa the view is just amazing. We were welcomed by Elerene, the house keeper. She is so nice and she made ourselves feel at home right away. She came to the home everyday to make sure everything was fine and she even did our laundry. The home is big, very clean, fully equipped, comfortable, lots of space to move around, very high ceiling and so beautiful. They have a front patio with a BBq and chairs and a large table. In the backyard, which is facing the ocean, there is a large deck with a spectacular view of Half Moon Bay. This beach is quiet, clean and the water so clear. You can either enjoy the big waves or move to the extreme corners of the beach where the sand is like powder and the water is calm with no waves. There is a reef barrier making those parts of the beach very popular. There is a restaurant/bar on the beach ran by Smiling Harry. It is good but the service very slow, 45 minutes for 5 hot dogs seems long for me. Most of the meals were spent at the home anyway, it is so convenient. At night, we enjoyed the background noise from the wind and the waves. No loud music or screaming like that you find at different resorts. The internet and the cable TV works great. Our family voted to go back again. We felt safe and at home right away. This is by far one of the best home that I have rented in the carribean."

  • Cliffside is paradise

"Cliffside photos do not do it justice. We arrived very late due to a delayed flight and thanks to Paul for his wonderful directions we found it! Thanks too for Christiane making us so welcome and doing some shopping for us. Cliffside is very characterful and we instantly fell in love with it. Imagine our delight next morning when we also saw the wonderful views.... The closeness to the lovely Long Bay beach make a day spent down there very easy. We ate at both La Tartagua and Barrow (such a nice man). We explored most of the island. An excursion to Half Moon Bay is recommended and the little hut on the beach serves marvellous grilled prawns. We also enjoyed having lunch at Coconut Grove on Dickenson Bay. Another favourite for lunch was OJ's on Darkwood Beach. English Harbour/Nelsons Dockyard is lovely, go into the Admirals Inn and take the free ferry across to the other side for another delightful lunch. However we were always so pleased to come back to Cliffside. There were no restaurants in walking distance that were open at night but we were so happy to eat at home, and that is how we thought of Cliffside, home. We also had a fun day's trip on a catamaran, they pick up at the bottom of the hill, so very easy. We went into St. Johns a few times. The locals were so friendly everywhere. The only negative thing is that two weeks weren't long enough! Paul and Sheila were very easy to deal with all the way through. Let's hope we can come back one day."

  • A week in paradise

"We spent a glorious week at Marisol over the 2015 New Year holiday. The setting is spectacular and the house is very well furnished and cleaned. We were lucky to meet Valli and her daughter, who overlapped the first few days in the house next door. The were both extremely helpful and very nice people. The garden and views were fabulous. There are several porches that are very pleasant spots to sit and read or just soak in the surroundings. We like to watch birds, and were entertained by hummingbirds, bannanquits, flycatchers, and many others from dawn to dusk. Pleasant breezes kept us cool at night and were never hot during the day. The beach was a few minutes away, just walk down a spectacular garden path and you are there. Excellent swimming beach. A pleasant 30 minute walk takes you to Devil's Bridge National Park, which is on a dramatic peninsula jutting out into the Atlantic, with surf crashing over the rocks. We recommend dinner at the nearby Verandah resort (walk over to reserve at their best restaurant, Nicole's, and get the lobster thermidor!). We explored a lot of the island by rental car, and especially enjoyed Half Moon Bay and a boat ride to Green Island from Harmony Hall (excellent lunch there too). We highly recommend this house as an awesome place to stay at in Antigua."
