  • Our 1st Vacation Rental - Amazing morning views!

"This summer as part of our family trip we decided to rent an apartment for the first time. We ended up in this wonderful gem! The apartment was spacious and comfortable (there were five of us). My mother had not been on the island in more than 50 years and having this inviting home as a place to relax from our whirlwind activity filled days was a Godsend. The condo has all the comforts of home, more so because we were able to step right out of the property to the beach. In the front closet there are beach chairs, cooler, umbrella and beach toys which we were able to use while on the beach. Waking up and sitting on the balcony at dawn was one of the most beautiful and tranquil moments of the day and a highlight of our memories. Jim is personable and communicated with us before, during and after our stay. My family unanimously agrees that we will be visiting again! After staying here no more hotel rooms for us. Thanks Jim!"

  • Can't beat the view!

"We loved our vacation in this villa. The view from back and side windows (it is a corner unit overlooking the water) is unbelievable and the property is very convenient to the beach and beach bar. The Beach Village section and Palmas Del Mar resort itself, is great with plenty of amenities. We sat on the beach in the sun, swam in the waves (we walked further down the beach to swim; the beach adjacent to Beach Village had red flags our entire stay, but the area 400 yards away was clear to swim- beautiful water), played tennis and worked out in the gym (extra fee involved for both), and rented a golf cart to ride around the entire resort. The resort's location is convenient to off site excursions, we spent a day hiking the rain forest, drove to Fajardo for the Miniboat snorkeling tours through Kayaking Puerto Rico (two thumbs way way up for this tour, can't remember when our family laughed so hard; this tour was a vacation highlight by far!!!), and drove to a tour to kayak the bioluminescent bay (used Yokahu Kayak Trips, fun guides). For the condo itself: The villa is a very spacious, with two bedrooms plus a loft area, plenty of room for our family of four (two teenagers). The kitchen is pretty well equipped, with decent quality pans, blender, . . . all of the basic necessities. We cooked all of our meals here (shout out to Puerto Rico's version of Whole Foods, "FreshMart" REALLY difficult to find, but worth it to stock up on your way to the resort). The view (did I mention the view?) is better in person than in the pictures. Postcard worthy. When we arrived, the AC did not work, resulting in water leaks in the bathrooms, but the management company was extremely quick in fixing everything and a pleasure to deal with (thanks Rebecca for all of your help!). Very nice people. The unit is older, but the owner is obviously freshening it up (villa runs true to the pictures). We were here during Spring Break, Easter week, yet it didn't feel crowded at all (only hint that it was a popular holiday was the number of golf carts zipping around). Many thanks to the management company and the owner, we had a wonderful vacation!"

  • Loved St Marteen & this Villa!

"One of the best equipped villas we have rented. An incredible amount of detail was paid. My children (age 11 & 13) have only known gated country club living and were initially taken aback by the neighborhood. However, the next day, they were playing with the neighborhood kids and dog. Christmas Eve, we walked to a nearby church for service. We easily navigated the island - both Dutch and French side. We caught a ferry for a day in Anguilla. We chartered a speedboat w/ a skipper for a day in St. Barths and lunch at Nikki Beach. Each Christmas break, we select a different island to visit. This is one island and villa that I would definitely like to revisit"

  • Perfect in every way

"We stayed for 8 nights on our snorkeling vacation and would definitely recommend. The property exceeded our expectations. The bay is beautiful, fun to watch occasional boats come and go, and although it is a grassy and sandy bottom here the visibility was good enough to go for a quick dip here every morning and check in on our ‘locals’ which included starfish, spiny lobsters and a variety of fish. Check out the fish under the pier at The Pools next door. We snorkeled round to Starfish point and back. Our boys used the pool most days and it was always quiet. Stroll a few steps along the beach to the Yacht club for lunch, dinner or cocktails. The condo itself was excellently maintained and equipped, nicely decorated (ocean themed) and very comfortable. Our son slept on the aero bed the first night and would not give it up. It was superior to any sleeper sofa we have previously encountered. There is no dining table - just a breakfast bar - but we ate outside on the porch all the time. We loved the view from the living room and master bedroom/porch and we appreciated being on the quieter part of the island as opposed to 7-mile beach. It was sheltered compared to the north side, but there was still a constant pleasant warm breeze. The owners offered helpful suggestions on the best places nearby to go snorkeling. One of our favorites was the drift snorkel at Cayman Kai public beach, less than a 10 minute drive away."
