  • Amazing Villa

"My teenage children and myself just arrived home from Antigua. The Villa was filled with charm, wonderful amenities, an amazing view and a great beach. We spent some days on the beach at St. James Club and travelled to others on the Island, they were all beautiful. I highly recommend this Villa as you will feel like you are at home but in paradise."

  • Truly enjoyable stay.

"As so many others have noted before us, this truly is a wonderful place. We very much enjoyed our 10 night stay at the Sugar Shack. A perfect cozy cottage - so clean, so private and so relaxing. Ilse and Bill are excellent hosts, very responsive and accommodating, and the staff is excellent as well. The island is terrific with so many beautiful beaches, including the ones so close to the cottage. And with very good grocery stores nearby, we were able to enjoy long days at the beach followed by fantastic barbecues on the patio or a night out at the many local restaurants. Thank you Bill and Ilse for sharing your paradise with us and for introducing us to sun-downers. Evenings haven’t been the same since."

  • Villa Kulala is an exotic and enchanting home from home

"We were immediately struck by the sea and bay views and complete privacy of the Villa, which was a joy to wake-up to each morning. Pelicans and sea eagles, circling close to the Villa by the headland cliffs, can often be seen diving for fish in the bay. A sea breeze constantly regulated and provided just the right relief to the glorious sunny climate. There is immediate access to sea swimming and snorkling in the bay via stone steps. This provides an alternative to relaxing in the lovely infinity-edge swimming pool, should the mood take you. The villa is thoughtfully designed and well equipped with an excellent kitchen. There are various areas to use for mealtimes, enjoying a drink with family and friends or simply lounging about. The property is well maintained and pleasantly exotic with its Balinese theme, but also homely and relaxing. Quite an achievement! The bedrooms are all a good size, with delightful on suite bathrooms, and feature very clever air-conditioned beds. Necessarily, the large beds are efficiently draped in mosquito nets, but the size and height of the sleeping area and the use of the special air-conditioning ensure both comfort and relief from unwanted night life to ensure an enchanted and pleasant sleeping chamber. A good beach is a short walk away with relaxed beach restaurants. Other attractions include English Harbour, which is within easy driving distance. A delightful area to visit and which includes the historical interest of Nelson's Dockyard. The naturally narrow harbour entrance and steep surrounding hills provide a dramatic backdrop to the inner harbour populated by a variety of beautiful yachts. The villa staff were very helpful and excellent information and guidance was given by the owners. The whole experience could not have been better."

  • Perfect family vacation

"I would like to thanks Alan and his wife for sharing their home with us. The home is about 30 minutes from the airport. We rented a car from Dollar rent a car (great sevice and brand new suv) and it was very easy to drive on the island. There are multiple grocery stores on the way, we decided to stop at the Epicurian in St Johns. You will find everything you need at that store. There are also many banks with instant teller machines around that area. The drive to Antigua Highlands is very nice. Antiguans are very courteous on the road. as you arrive at the villa the view is just amazing. We were welcomed by Elerene, the house keeper. She is so nice and she made ourselves feel at home right away. She came to the home everyday to make sure everything was fine and she even did our laundry. The home is big, very clean, fully equipped, comfortable, lots of space to move around, very high ceiling and so beautiful. They have a front patio with a BBq and chairs and a large table. In the backyard, which is facing the ocean, there is a large deck with a spectacular view of Half Moon Bay. This beach is quiet, clean and the water so clear. You can either enjoy the big waves or move to the extreme corners of the beach where the sand is like powder and the water is calm with no waves. There is a reef barrier making those parts of the beach very popular. There is a restaurant/bar on the beach ran by Smiling Harry. It is good but the service very slow, 45 minutes for 5 hot dogs seems long for me. Most of the meals were spent at the home anyway, it is so convenient. At night, we enjoyed the background noise from the wind and the waves. No loud music or screaming like that you find at different resorts. The internet and the cable TV works great. Our family voted to go back again. We felt safe and at home right away. This is by far one of the best home that I have rented in the carribean."
