Palm Beach Travel Tips

Getting to Palm Beach

Aruba is a popular beach vacation destination in the Caribbean and is easily accessible with international and regional airlines offering regularly scheduled flights. All the major North American airlines have connections into Aruba and some European airlines have flights at least once a week. On arrival in Aruba, you can get a taxi to Palm Beach or arrange to hire a car for the duration of your stay. Alternatively, if you are looking to arrive at your vacation home in style, there are limo services available. To get to the beaches, you can hop on one of the local buses. Make sure you familiarize yourself with the schedules so you can get back home in the afternoon.

Choose from the Best

Palm Beach, also known as the High Rise District, is reputed to be Aruba’s best and most popular beach. Many of the villas are located on or near the beachfront and have fantastic views over the bay. Choose from one-bedroom condos and large spacious homes that can accommodate up to eight people. The vacation rentals are comfortably furnished and many have televisions and entertainment centers, not that you will want to spend much time holed up indoors; Aruba has a wealth of attractions well worth exploring. Getting groceries or supplies from the local stores is easy, and well equipped kitchens make catering for the family hassle-free.

Activities in Aruba

The warm tropical weather and beautiful beach setting of Aruba provides the perfect playground for a whole host of activities. Sip on an ice cold cocktail at one of the beach bars and watch the local kite surfers playing in the waves. You could also sign up for a few lessons and join them out to sea. Windsurfing is another popular sport and on a windy day, the bay is a mass of colorful sails. A great way to explore the coastline is by hiring a sea kayak. Pack a picnic lunch and enjoy an afternoon paddle to one of the quieter beaches nearby. There are several diving operators that offer scuba charters and snorkeling excursions. The diving conditions are optimal with crystal clear visibility, warm water temperatures and an abundance of marine life. Many leisure cruises will offer snorkeling as part of their packages. For those keen on deep sea and sport fishing, charter boats can take you to the best fishing spots and provide all the necessary fishing gear.
