"We absolutely loved Aruba and did not want to leave! The Marriott Surf Club was beautiful and very well maintained. Our 2BR villa was very spacious and had a breathtaking view of the ocean as well as the Lazy River. My two college aged children and middle schooler agreed it was the best vacation they have had. Al was fantastic to work with and offered many recommendations from activities to restaurants. He even called a few times while we were there to check in. Would highly recommend Aruba, The Marriott and Al."

  • Beautiful views!

"My family of four-2 twenty-somethings-stayed at Villa Calabas to celebrate both kids college graduations in 2014. We all really just needed someplace quiet and relaxing by the time we arrived and Villa Calabas was perfect. It is not a fancy upscale place inside but it is clean and well maintained and has everything you need. The outdoor living areas are amazing. View is just incredible, the pool is great, the landscaping is fantastic. It is wonderfully quiet and there are plenty of places for sun-lovers and shade seekers alike. JP and Eve were very helpful and always available when we needed something. We all appreciated the welcome beers and the stop by the grocery store on the way to the house. We rented snorkel equipment one day-nice to just be able to rent as needed and easy to pick up from the office as we drove by on our way to the beach. Definitely rent a car-nothing is far away in distance but driving times will be longer than you think since roads aren't well marked and aren't always where they appear to be on the map. Just know you'll probably get briefly lost but go anyway! Friday and Saturday nights the traffic to get to the high rise resorts from the house is very heavy. Our favorite restaurant was Papiemento's. Great food, service and amazing setting. Make reservations! We also enjoyed Barefoot, Driftwood (hard to find though) and the setting and food at Pincho's-the service was not good at all but they were very busy. We weren't super impressed with Wacky Wahoo's-might have just been an off night for them-but still worth going. We also enjoyed Baby Beach (go to the little food shack for drinks-much less expensive there than the larger restaurant), Arashi Beach and Palm Beach (not nearly as crowded as we expected). The wind died in mid afternoon the week we stayed and it got a little buggy by the pool so we'd just pack the cooler and head to a beach. I definitely recommend Villa Calabas!"

  • Best Kept Secret in Aruba...!!!! Fabulous and Awesome Place..!!

"Our stay at the Straw Hat Sisters Sand & Sea villa was a delightful 3 weeks in August ... it is beautiful! The pictures and amenities are so much better when you are there enjoying all that is offered; not just a rental but a luxurious, ideal vacation Caribbean home. Our family enjoyed this villa very much. The Straw Hat Sisters were a joy to communicate with and WE would indeed recommend this villa in Tierra Del Sol home for others to enjoy. Privacy never goes out of style. Thank you ladies!" Angela is an excellent host always available for any questions that you may have..!!!"

"We just returned from our stay in Tierre Del Sol . This was our first time using VRBO, so it was unnerving until we got there. Everything was exactly as Jake had told us! He was very easy to work with. Directions were great! We drove straight there. Quite honestly the Island is so easy to get around. Once there, we were able to get in by getting keys out of lockbox. The community is gated, which also gives a sense of security. I never felt threatened on any part of the Island. The condo itself is exactly as it looked in pictures! Everything you could possibly need in the kitchen. We used the griddle a lot!! After arriving we figured out what we would need at the grocery. The prices at grocery are pretty comparable to prices in the states. They have everything priced twice US$ and their $. The condo is located at the North end of the Island. After traveling and hiking that entire Island...... In our opinion the North end is much nicer!!!! The pool at the condo is very plush and food / drinks are reasonably priced! Definitely worth having the "country club package" We liked the fact that the condo was away from the busy part of the island. It was so peaceful!! We enjoyed watching the sun rise every morning from our bed. With that being said the beds were our only major complaint. As another review has posted there is plastic on the beds. I understand why from a business point of view, but don't agree with the type of plastic. They were still wrapped in the plastic that the beds came in.... Which is not breathable. That lead to sleepless nights for us. A lot of tossing, turning and sweating. I have discussed this issue with Jake and he has assured me the plastic will be changed. We would love to return to this property if that is taken care of!! Aside from that I would still reccomend this property. We didn't do the typical tourist jeep tours, etc.... We chose to hike. If you are a hiker you definitely will need your good hiking boots, day pack with hydration, trek sticks, and good aqua shoes . If you hike the north end it's all lava rock and washed up coral..... Absolutely beautiful!! We drove and parked. We hiked from the west to Far East. It was an easy 3-4 our hike.... Aqua shoes def required!! Our more dif hike was at Arikok National park. We were planning on doing the hike ourselves, but ended up having a park ranger, so we could learn more about the culture. We had Rambo, and boy.... He didn't stop!! We hiked 6hrs in intense heat w"
