  • All we could have asked for!

"A+! Leapin' Lizards was the perfect getaway for our first ever family vacation. Myself, my four sons, with their wives and children, a total of 14, spent an idyllic holiday on the peaceful island of Elbow Cay. Although it requires an extra effort to get to, it is worth it. The pool was the center of everything, the children spent hours there and the adults gathered there after hours. The Main House had the biggest kitchen and largest dining area, so we did most of our cooking there. I slept in the cottage and fell asleep each night to the sound of waves on the beach. Don't miss sleeping on the seaside bed beneath the stars; glorious! We rented two golf carts to get around the island (don't miss Tahiti Beach) and a 23' Albury center console boat to explore other islands, go snorkeling and fishing. I don't think our vacation would have been complete without either one of them; we spent party every day on the boat. Judy, the property manager, was attentive and answered all our questions and attended to our needs. The house is very well equipped and beautifully decorated. Please note: the youngest member of our party was just 18 months old. Because the pool and walkway connecting the two houses is elevated, someone needed to be at his side constantly. It might not be the best choice for travelers with very young children. We loved our choice and hope to return soon."

  • What a special and beautiful property

"I just spent a week at Mermaid's Ridge and it was just beyond fabulous. The house is so clean, and easily accessible from the north end dock. It's a nice 20-25 minute walk to town. With the scenery though it doesn't seem like long at all. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you could possibly need (my family has been to Hopetown multiple times so we often bring lots of food and cook quite a bit). In addition, the bathrooms were clean and the bedrooms were spacious. There are not too many extra beach towels so I would recommend bringing a few extras if you have a large party. The wifi is a nice bonus, but honestly, you forget that email even exists, a wonderful reprieve. In addition, the VHF radio is great to listen to the Cruiser's Net every morning on channel 68 at 8:15AM to get updates about the weather and events happening in the area. My only complaint is that we couldn't stay longer! Thanks for a wonderful trip!"

  • Been all over Abaco- This is the spot!!

"We have stayed on Lubbers Quarters, mid- Elbow Cay, North end, Green Turtle, etc. This house is perfect from a variety of perspectives. Location: Easy walk to Sea Spray Marina and Abaco Inn, keep an eye on your boat at the private dock from the master bedroom and an easy cart ride into town. All that and you could toss a small coconut into either the Atlantic or Sea of Abaco in either front or back yard! Our favorite piece was being able to take our rental boat (Abaco Dorado - had a great experience with them) out of White Sound and right over to Tahiti beach. Just an amazing place to swim and hang out. Interior- Our party consisted of two families with three adult (college-age) kids. There are effectively three master suites, one on each level with a fourth bedroom on the ground level with two twins. All four bedrooms have en-suite baths- a key component of remaining friends over vacation.... Beyond that, everything was just right. If you are going to get out of sorts if the power goes out and the generator can't operate the central air, dryer, tv and microwave- go to Sandals in Aruba or stay in New Jersey! That's island life and this home is set up better than any I've seen. With every room opening onto both the ocean and Sea of Abaco, it would be hard to want to close off the awesome breeze. Beyond that, call the caretakers beforehand to double check what you should bring. Maxwells Grocery in Marsh Harbour is essentially equal in selection and price to a Sate-side store. Assume you will need about everything but the bottle of rum I left behind :)"

  • Little Taste Of Heaven

"This was our first trip to the Bahamas and we rented this wonderful place sight unseen. The cottage and island far exceeded our expectations. We were met by the owner at the public dock and he quickly helped us settle into the private parrot perch cottage. It was private, had a rustic setting but didn't feel rustic at all, and had a gorgeous view. We felt like we hit the jackpot. The place was immaculate and everything and anything we could possibly need was available. The caretakers Jenny and Jeff were always available and very patient with our newbie questions. We loved the breeze the flowed through the cottage and the sound of the ocean at night. We will be back to visit again soon. Counting the days."
