  • What a special and beautiful property

"I just spent a week at Mermaid's Ridge and it was just beyond fabulous. The house is so clean, and easily accessible from the north end dock. It's a nice 20-25 minute walk to town. With the scenery though it doesn't seem like long at all. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you could possibly need (my family has been to Hopetown multiple times so we often bring lots of food and cook quite a bit). In addition, the bathrooms were clean and the bedrooms were spacious. There are not too many extra beach towels so I would recommend bringing a few extras if you have a large party. The wifi is a nice bonus, but honestly, you forget that email even exists, a wonderful reprieve. In addition, the VHF radio is great to listen to the Cruiser's Net every morning on channel 68 at 8:15AM to get updates about the weather and events happening in the area. My only complaint is that we couldn't stay longer! Thanks for a wonderful trip!"

  • A Great Stay.

"All in, we liked Abaco Blue! The property is quiet and private - neighbors were not too far away, but the setting does allow for privacy. The pool is a really nice reason to included this house on your short list. While it's not big (doesn't need to be) it's very, very relaxing and beautiful. The house floor plan is great for two couples. It's open, private and clean. Also, we felt the kitchen was very well stocked for cooking. As well, the grounds were well taken care of and beautiful. A few things worth mentioning: first, the house is advertised as having a washer/dryer (which it does), but the separate building that houses them was locked making them unusable for us - a really big deal because we all packed with the expectation of being able to wash our clothes one time. Secondly, the microwave did not work - we suspect it's on the same line as a bad GFI. Lastly (and this is picky) we did not find the beds comfortable, at all. In conclusion, this property is one of the coolest places we've stayed on Elbow. Lucayos neighborhood is a very quiet, wooded area of the island and we highly recommend Abaco Blue be included in your search."

  • Good Times for all

"Catch A Wave is a very clean, up-to-date place to stay while at Elbow Cay. The location was close to town while also being close to Tahiti Beach. We enjoyed our short golf cart rides to markets, marinas, and restaurants. The kids enjoyed the pool each day, while my wife enjoyed quiet peaceful time on the deck reading a book. We all enjoyed the great views. We went to either Tahiti Beach or Hopetown Lodge Beach everyday. We had frequent contact with the owner throughout our trip for advice in addition to being able to contact their caretaker. My wife, who is a decorator, loved the interior. We really had a great time!"

  • Great central location

"The Bahama Breeze captures the true feeling of what a beach house is all about. It's location is perfect in so many ways. When I first arrived, the grounds reminded me of what a tropical plantation should look like, the big open level yard was well groomed and all the palms welcoming. The house was well maintained and has a friendly inviting feel that helps you relax immediately. We enjoyed catching the warm breezes right off the ocean while watching the sunrise on the front deck each morning with our coffee and even better was falling asleep with the gentle sound of waves below breaking on the shore right outside our window. I like to walk for exercise and each morning took the steps down to the beach and walked up to White Sound Beach – just beautiful and never saw another person. The Breeze's central location on the Cay made everything very convenient, we especially like the closeness of the public dock which gave us easy access to our rental boat. The fishing was great and we feasted on the local catch – really enjoyed the mai mai from the grill on the deck. We also found great places to dine out a short trip in either direction - towards Hopetown along the harbor just over the hill in White Sound for some great sunsets. We really enjoyed our stay at the Bahama Breeze, all the friendly local people, and look forward to returning for many more good times. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing vacation beach house in the perfect island setting."
