  • Fun in the Sun

"We had another excellent trip to Grandview. As always, the stress seeps away the minute we board the ferry. Every trip to Guana is special and we love meeting new people and expanding our friendships. Greg and Lori are very gracious and they have put together a perfect place to relax and enjoy the island."

  • An experience that sparked a thousand memories from a childhood holiday on an Australian island

"It was every thing I had hoped for ....what a cute cottage, with jimmy buffet music continuously playing in the back ground in the perfect setting... water and lush native fauna backdrop .Very basic living no windows just shutters and fly screens ....an out door shower is an experience every one should have. The cottages exterior paint color combination blue ,yellow and emerald green was memorizing it just made you feel alive You will need to rent a golf cart but that's fun in itself as it will take 10 minutes to get to Nippers bar With the tropics comes bugs so make sure to pick up repellant and the mosquito coils You have the choice of the inside calm water or the open ocean only 150 yards away ."

  • great place

"Excellent cottage. Very quiet, comfortable and excellent condition. Would stay again and highly recommend for a small family. The owner is easy to work with and prepares you well in advance about the Cay. A cart is a must. A short ride to the beach, a little further to the settlement.."

  • Quiet island time

"We just returned from a one week stay at Gumbo Limbo and had a very relaxing time there. The house is excellent quality with a real beachy feel from the decor to the views of ocean on both sides. The screened in porch is excellent and we ate all our meals out there as well as many card games. The no-see-ums will still get you at some point though. The house has lovely breezes so we only needed the fans on our last day. The community dock being nearby did mean some golf carts and people traipsing past but apart from that we rarely saw anyone at the semi private beach. The snorkelling was ok there, having snorkelled around the world it was acceptable. My husband saw a large manta ray and we saw a reef shark. There is fan coral and someone else saw a turtle. Most days it was a little windy on that side and some choppiness to the ocean but what amazing aqua water. You will need to rent a golf cart, I think that its not an option. I walked once from the beach but it wasn't possible to go right along the beach so it is a bit of a long walk. The track on the house side of the island degrades after the Orchid development into a very rough bumpy track. Being 22 weeks pregnant I often had to hop off and walk. So I'd be aware of this if you have problems with riding a bumpy track. Of course we sometimes didn't go into the town and enjoyed chilling out at the house. The garden is very nicely done and there are lots of great books to read as well as internet, radio, tv, dvds. The island does not have a huge array of dining options. We did dine at Nippers but felt Grabbers was better for a bit more Caribbean flare. We brought some groceries across on the ferry but did run low so went to the grocery store on the island which had just as much or little! You can get creative with a box of brownie mix, there's an oven, or make your own cocktails, there's a blender. There are quite a few feral cats on the island. There were three that hung around the house. Hope you like cats. Our little boy enjoyed giving them a few tidbits. We had quite the journey to get home due to lining up ferry, flights and customs. I'd allow a good amount of time between any connecting flights and make sure you know the ferry times, we had to wait around a bit for the last ferry but its right at Curly Tails so you can enjoy a drink and some conch fritters while waiting. Overall we had a very enjoyable holiday and it was what we wanted, quiet, beach and warm weather."
