Recent Great Guana Cay reviews

  • Simply lovely and well managed.

"We visited a number of cays in a 22 day exploration of the Abaco area. Without any hesitancy I can say that Frangipani is the nicest of the houses that we stayed in, some costing a good deal more. My only caution is that we were not given access to laundry facilities during our four night stay. The house is two bedroom, two bath. The interior with wood paneling is in excellent condition. Located on the shore of the Sea of Abaco; the lane leading to the property descends steeply from the main road. Although there is no beach in front of the house there is a substantive dock and the wonderful beaches of Guana are only a short ride away. A flight of stairs is climbed to reach the screened porch. We particularly liked Grabbers (more so than Nippers) and Orchid Bay Marina. The grocery store is well stocked and pleasant to use. As an aside, we accidentally left some important medicines at Frangipani when we returned to our own house on Green Turtle Cay. The Frangipani manager, Rita, and the staff of Sugar Shack on GTC arranged to get the medicines back to us quickly and at no cost, saving us four ferry trips and a car rental. Community spirit is impressive in the out islands."

  • Great Stay

"Location and privacy were amazing. Lovely cottage. Use of kayaks was great (could have had wheels/dolly to transport easier to water.) Enjoyed running around in golf cart. Would love to go back again. Beaches quiet and natural. Groceries limited, and expensive (take what you can with you!) No need to dress fancy, very casual on the island. Weather a bit rough and cool for first few days, then perfect for remainder of stay."

  • Tucked away beauty

"It took 3 planes, a ferry and a golf cart to get to Beachwatch but it was worth every moment. If the phrase hole-in-the-wall makes any sense applied to the Bahamas, that about sums it up. Quiet, restful, pretty spot. The house is outfitted to please any kitchen maniac. Caught Wahoo, went snorkeling and just generally tooled around. The rooftop deck on the house is a great place to hang and be mellow over drinks. Our two boys loved it as well and they're hard to please. They both say it's better than Disney World. Highly recommended for low maintenance enjoyment."

  • Great Family Times!

"Words cannot truly express how much we enjoyed our time at Gumbo Limbo! It was perfect for our family (mom, dad, son 7 daughter 4)! The home was built with great attention to detail, the kitchen had everything we could want for cooking and the boogie boards and beach umbrella were great additions! This is our 3rd time in the Abacos and this home had everything we could possibly want. This home is on the South end and provided us seclusion and wonderful space for the kids to go out and be kids. Already planning our next trip. Thank YOU very much for sharing your wonderful home with us!"
