"We just returned from vacation number 3 to the Bahamas House and I am happy to report that this vacation spot remains the world's best. We filled our days with just the right mix of activities, nightlife, and downtime. Of course, the house was perfect. It's close to all the fun yet far enough away to still feel secluded. Depending on your mood, you can dial-up the day you want. Check out the other reviews for house details, but I can tell you, it's the perfect vacation.
> Get a golf cart. -- Check with the owners to rent a golf cart on the island. You can go everywhere on the island with a golf cart -- from the ocean beach snorkel spots to "Sundowners" in town for drinks and music.
> Get a boat. The owners pointed us to a boat rental place that set us up with a sweet boat for our stay. Check with them to get the short list of the best rental companies, and be sure to line up the captains they recommend. (That way, you can concentrate on fishing, eating, snorkeling, sunning, drinking, etc., and not worry about driving your boat to the best spots. It's great to have a boat to zip over to Pineapple's or Sundowner's for cocktails!)
> Go on Brendal's picnic. This trip, by far, was the best snorkel/scuba/dive adventure I have ever been lucky enough to join. Brendal and his crew would be fun even without a boat, but the reef we visited, and the remote beach bbq, with all the Bahamian drinks and dishes they cooked up and served... all made for a phenomenal day. Check out brendal.com for details and go. Just go. Regardless of your skill level or experience, you'll love this trip.
> Dine at the Green Turtle Club: Amazingly fine dining that compares well with much snootier venues in metro areas. The menu features a mix of local favorites and traditional fare, and the wine list is as good as any you'll find anywhere. Here's the link to check it out: http://www.greenturtleclub.com/luxury-bahamas-resort-dining (And yes, I live in SF. I get it.)
> Have a "tipsy turtle" at The Yacht Club Pub (before dinner at the Green Turtle Club, or really, ANYTIME) -- The original "goombay smash" -- it's best when ordered frozen and is an amazingly refreshing and relaxing cocktail. Also -- sign a dollar bill and staple to the wall -- because this is where that started.
> Have a drinks and dinner at Lizard's Bar at Leeward Yacht Club http://www.leewardyachtclub.com/index.php/lizard-bar
> Nap a lot.
> Don't miss a sunset. Just don't."
